We will never actually strike (at least not for long) with the current administration in DC.
The House will more than likely go blue next month, and 2020 may go blue as well. Then, and only then, will the membership have support from DC.
Fake news. At United, Sito had Ira Gottleib write a letter saying they better vote for ta2 or the leverage goes with the company because a strike wont happen.
That was in 2014 with your boy Obama.

Dont let the facts get in your way. Unless you think our lawyers were lying.

Why on earth would they want to meet with your boy Sito who has already made it clear that he wont attach retirement to scope?
We are stuck with an arbitrator decision in 3 years and we will get alot less. You dont understand.

its coming

So says “No Proof Nelson” (Your new nickname)

And I do not know and have never spoken to Sito Pantoja. I’m in the TWU, not the IAM.

Nah this isn’t SWA World, this is the Airline Industry and the handcuffs of being under the Railway Labor Act.

Actually after Herb left you guys over there just joined the big leagues of Management stall stall stall.

It’s all about them holding on to the accumulated small dollars as long as they can. (The interest)

Like I’ve said before. We’re all going to get the retro check on the wages and OT but just think about all that lost compounding interest we could have had in our financial accounts, particularly our retirements.

Company is going to keep our 401k match losses, Holliday’s, Sick Time, Etc.
Yes, if Herb was younger, and we were the size we are now, it might have been a little faster resolved , but it becomes big business and about shareholders. You are right Weazz that is my whole point on these boards the world has changed. It doesn't matter what union you have, the results are the same. It will take longer to get a deal. Hell even pilots take 4 to 5 years. We are just mechanics and ramp personnel, we will be even longer. Look forward to I can retire someday.

Fleet won't strike.
Maintenance won't strike.
The government won't allow a strike.
The association is so dysfunctional and divided that not one group will support the other. Maintenance will not walk for fleet service and vice-versa because there is no unionism in our society anymore. Unions are about making money off the members. A strike will cost the union money and members may lose their jobs.
Enough of the strike jabber. It won't and never will happen.
Good points but your 3rd sentence is all anybody needs to know and it doesnt matter whether the administration is blue or red

let the people vote.

You are where the people at SWA wanted to vote in 2017. They came to an agreement in April of 2018. We finally voted in October of 2018. It was probably 50/50 then AMFA started their road shows about we were getting screwed with their paid economist, and it went 75% no. It wasn't the scope, it became about economics. So if they didn't gut your scope, do you feel this proposal would pass?

There seems to be something missing on that proposal,as in how many of you will be left to collect that money. Just sayin......

That's what I was wondering about the scope language the company wanted?

Tomorrow the Association and Company meet with the Federal Mediators. It’s going to be nothing more than a glorified Meet and Greet. After that nothing happens till the end of January. 3 Months later and after the Holliday seasons pass.

The Company has “chosen” to take the position now that they refuse to meet with our Representatives unless the NMB is present. This is a choice THEY are making. The Association has been very public that they would like to continue to meet and that ask has been ignored.

So Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Hey Weez. It's the exact same play book SWA pulled with us. SWA too refused to meet with any union contract cmte members on the nego team unless the mediators were present. Although they constantly say "we will meet with them any time, any day, and anywhere, just name it. Well, our company, with the new nego team just refused the dates of Dec. 3rd and 4th.
It's all BS. Our company too refused to ever meet without the mediators present. This is clearly just another way to stall, stall, stall, and blame it on the mediators because of their schedules. More typical game playing for further stalling the new contract is all it is.

That's because we labor are all in the same boat. It has nothing to do with their Association, unless they refuse to bring a T/A out . Our Union AMFA can't produce anything faster than anyone else can. So based on what you just posted you just admitted it is management's fault and not their union.

We have two unions, multiple groups with various skill sets. The association believes one for all and all for one.
I don't see that with you guys.

Fortunately, a handful of anonymous digital malcontents (that may, or may not even be actual employees or members) is not an accurate barometer of reality.
The act of posting disruptive ideologies among themselves to drive agendas, is not in itself an indictment of the collective resolve.

Collective resolve? Thats funny.

Stop pretending to ignore reality. They have been negotiating for over 6 years now and they only represent 2300 to 2500 people.

We had a merger which whether you liked it or not was going to bring in multiple groups with multiple ideologies that needed to find common ground.

Even if you took Fleet out of your Union you would still have to contend with around 13,000 people from multiple groups with various skill sets. Or do you plan to just ignore or roll over them?
