of course you are suggesting that fleet should be attached to mx and that somehow that relationship will result in progress.

It hasnt and it wont.

What it will do is limit progress because of various interest that are inherently contradictive and counterproductive. You lose Charlie.
No gold ticket for you.
Actually probably makes it more likely that fleet gets some maintenance work a lose lose situation for the AMTS

weez has allegiances and an agenda outside fleet. Im tired of fleet being used as a pawn. Its a no win for fleet to attach it to a craft that is subject to global pressures.

Again I didn’t suggest anything. Obviously you really do have reading comprehension issues.

You just proved the point of what I originally wrote. Try reading it again now.

Weez, maybe you will win the antagonist award on Jetnet. Mine of course, is the voice of reason.

Weez... why is it reported that Tim is unable to vote on any future contracts? Is it because he is a dues objector?
It appears that this newly formed association has yet to allow us to vote on anything yet. Starting with the association being our representative without a membership vote. With that being said what makes you think we will vote on a contract? They said we were going to vote on the association, that was a big lie. So now that they got away with that the next one is a JCBA. Ask yourselves if you really know what the association is all about? No history, no track record, first time going into negotiations and now mediation as an association. Never happened before. Start thinking outside the box and forget about past practices.

Association Participates in Mediated Negotiations
October 31, 2018

Brothers and Sisters,
The TWU-IAM Association met with American Airlines October 30 in Dallas, TX for mediated negotiations under the supervision of the National Mediation Board. The purpose of this first mediated session was to bring the Federal mediators up to speed on the status of our negotiations.

Areas covered were compensation, healthcare, retirement, work protections (scope) and the remaining open language issues. The Association clearly restated our demands that our work is protected in any final agreement. We also reiterated our positions on the other economic issues. The meeting was cordial and produced final TAs on MLS and Fleet holidays as well as M&R Qualifications.

The Association held firm that the number of negotiating sessions was inadequate and that we need more frequent meetings. The Company did not object and the mediators set forth the following schedule:

*By conference call November 15 and December 14.

*Face to face meetings January 15-17, January 29-31, February 6-8 and February 12-14.

Our objective has been and remains to bring to the membership the best contract in the airline industry.

Anything less is unacceptable!

Fraternally,
Your Association Executive Negotiating Committee

Curious, I wonder what is the purpose of the conference call? Good to hear some TAs were produced on Holidays and Qualifications.

Items seem to be more down to conversations and taking notes over passing proposals back and forth?

These may be the only 2 days the Mediator has available due to other commitments until next year and it doesn’t really make much sense to fly everyone from all over the Country both time wise and economically.

Ok, I can see those points, but, do we all agree conference calls carry the same weight as face to face?

You mean don’t carry the same weight I assume? Of course not. But it’s historically been the Association who’s saying they’re willing to meet any time, any place and I haven’t heard that being parroted by the Company.
