American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

I think that's why the association is denying that only Alex Garcia was in on negotiations on the 30th.
Nobody denied it for one simple reason. It was a stupid post. The regular executive team for both sides was in the room on the 30th to meet with the mediators. That means 3 from the IAM and 3 from the TWU.
That’s it. Post all the rumors you want, but that’s how it went.

Yes while the negotiating committee where sitting in the hotel waiting to get updated. They where all there but not in on the negotiations. My contacts in Tulsa, DFW, DWH, MIA and JFK all confirm the same story. There where union people not in negotiations that where at the hotel who witnessed this first hand. Local 591 is denying it and so is the local fleet service troll on this forum. My guess is that these individuals are holding the negotiators accountable by showing up.
Either way this should not happen. Mediated talks should continue in the same manner with a mediator sitting in to make sure negotiations progress in a forward direction.

The next time ( I have never had cause to believe them ) those on the negotiating committee or the convention whine about hard or important work and little funds to do so, I inform my co workers of this conversatioin.

My understanding is that the "Executive Team" is the "Negotiating Sub-Committee" is tasked with reviewing the contract language.
That is why it takes 6 of them, but are not allowed to be in with the Mediators.

Regular, Executive? How many teams we got, or need?

Is it like 'A' team and 'B' team? Varsity and Jr. Varsity?

What a fustercluck we are involved in! 😵

Thank you for clearing some of this up.
Now just wait for a rebuttal.

When did I ask you to fight for me?? I am asking you to fight for yourself.
And is walking a info picket all you focus on?? Have you bothered to ask any of your local twu leaders in Dfw about the recent scheduling of the picketing there in Dfw?? Or do you just want to cry??.
I am the one that was in contact with our twu counterpart for the picket. I had advise him more than a month before the picket, before the date was even set, that the only week we wouldn’t be available was the week of the 21st. However he contacted me and said the 23rd was the best date for all the twu members. So I agreed that they should go ahead with it since 99% of the members in Dfw are twu. The IAM did have some of our local reps there, but the TWU leaders knew ahead of time that the IAM negotiating officers had our convention that we are required to attend that week. It was all agreed upon, and nothing was done or not done without both the twu and IAM knowing what was happening. So that’s your answer Dfw gen. Now go ahead and cry about it!!
thats funny, good twist! and last year the rest of the protests? the negotiating committee wants our support when will we get the the support of the full negotiating committee? still looking for any sign of support or sign of unity from the i.a.m. aka the m.i.a.

You can call it a twist or anything you want. I’m just telling you nothing happened without both twu and IAM knowing about it. Ask your twu leaders in Dfw and let’s see if they agree.

Your understanding once again is WRONG. (Correcting you guys all the time gets kinda old)

There is the Negotiating Committee which is made up of 6 and 6 for both Fleet and Maintenance (24 people) then you have the Executive Committee which is basically the names I’ve already written about or whoever they want to come in to talk to try to hammer something out. (It’s not as formal as you guys think)

The Sub Committee was essentially a BS title made as a consolation prize for the 3 TWU Fleet President’s who were left out when the original 6 were picked (They chose amongst themselves)

The Sub Committee name was so those not picked could save face with their Members and at least appear like they were actually involved (Which they weren’t) Those original 3 were Victor Gonzalez (501) Tim Marting (512) and Tom Lee (568)

BTW the IAM was the original Association Chair and they’re the ones who wanted 6 and 6.

Hope that clears it all up for you but I doubt it and I’m sure we’ll be back here again.

CB were any of the original Negotiators on the IAM side told or asked to attend? I heard that the meeting was basically not much more than a Meet and Greet to set up protocol, etc?

Some TA’s being a nice addition.

I have at the union meeting and the said "we dont know if the iam will be there" its a huge blunder by the iam negotiating committee to pass on any show of unity for the membership. Again i ask what is the iam doing to promote unity in the association? Staying home? That why we are where we are the iam's failing strategy of ignoring the membership.

Of course the iam wanted 6 and 6. Because they own the twu.

Maybe they will participate in the phone conference this month and next month.
I hope it won't be too much effort to dial a few numbers and sit back and listen in.

No we were not. We knew it was basically just going to be a meet and greet. The holiday article was basically already done except for the decision on rate of pay. That imo is going to be what the company will do now. They will move to tie up all the little loose ends now, just to show the mediators they are moving. But these little loose ends wasn’t what the hold up is all about

Hey CB, what is your title and roll in this association?

When they are told to they will, intil then nothing. The value of the association means nothing to them. They are unimpeachable. They do not answer to anyone.
