Its easy for you to stay home and preach patience, your cooperation was purchased with your last contract. You have a half way decent deal, we on the other hand are getting hosed every day. With no visible sign of support ftom our "partners" on the association. Or by definition is the association a realationship based on similar or common needs? If thats the case then how much longer do we need it?No we were not. We knew it was basically just going to be a meet and greet. The holiday article was basically already done except for the decision on rate of pay. That imo is going to be what the company will do now. They will move to tie up all the little loose ends now, just to show the mediators they are moving. But these little loose ends wasn’t what the hold up is all about
Of course the iam wanted 6 and 6. Because they own the twu.

so at what point will the iam show their value to the membership? the value to say we want to stay in the association. at this point after what 5 years i have seen nothing that says there is a value to the association, a reason to remain. a reason other then a supposed locked in legal agreement that says we are stuck with you. when i say you i mean a partner that is well not very interested in being a partner or rather just an associate or a friend with benefits maybe? No we were not. im not real sure about that ownership thing.More so it’s because people jockey the leadership to be a part of the Negotiations and 6 was what was finally settled on. I personally thought it was too many from day one and I think it did slow things down some.
Don’t forget though by the Association agreement we have to have an equal number for the vote to bring something back to us for a vote or not.
BTW IAM doesn’t own the TWU and the TWU doesn’t own the IAM either. The Association agreement was very careful to make everything very equal.
please stop trying to make excuses for them, they have alex to justify their existence. other then you i am not aware of ANY other twu member that supports the association. and that means every member, voted or appointed.Rumor has it that there may have been a little bit of miscommunication that the TWU side thought you were all going to be there from the IAM side and unfortunately that left some TWU folks sitting on their hands in a Lobby for some hours?
I’m sure the Mediators are wise enough to see through any ploys that frankly either side might want to throw at them.

Again I am telling you we didn’t. Here is my cell. 704-860-1802, Now if you want to call me and give me the names of who you talked to? I would like to know who said that. So please give me a call.I have at the union meeting and the said "we dont know if the iam will be there" its a huge blunder by the iam negotiating committee to pass on any show of unity for the membership. Again i ask what is the iam doing to promote unity in the association? Staying home? That why we are where we are the iam's failing strategy of ignoring the membership.
I am on the IAM side of the negotiating committee.Hey CB, what is your title and roll in this association?
I find it quite amusing that you keep putting down the IAM. The IAM has showed their value to their membership in numerous ways. First, there is only one union that could have petitioned the nmb that they should be the controlling union. That was the union that had 50% of the total workforce. That wasn’t the IAM for your information. The pilots did it, the flight attendants did it. Not sure why it wasn’t done for fleet or mechanics. Again, it wasn’t the IAM.so at what point will the iam show their value to the membership? the value to say we want to stay in the association. at this point after what 5 years i have seen nothing that says there is a value to the association, a reason to remain. a reason other then a supposed locked in legal agreement that says we are stuck with you. when i say you i mean a partner that is well not very interested in being a partner or rather just an associate or a friend with benefits maybe?

Hey Charlie Brown as an outsider it's just like Northwest and Delta, Delta in name only, except now Richard Anderson is running AMTrak. So tell me as an IAM guy if the mechanics ever managed to get the Association out, and replaced with AMP, like some on here want to do, what contract would survive? The Superior IAM contract, or the bankrupt TWU contract? Just curious.I find it quite amusing that you keep putting down the IAM. The IAM has showed their value to their membership in numerous ways. Now since the IAM didn’t have 50% of the combined workgroup, we agreed to the association to protect our members voice.
Next, even though we didn’t have Equal numbers, the IAM was successful on getting equal numbers at the negotiating table. We have 6 and 6 so we have equal say for our members.
While I’m sure you won’t agree, but the IAM has showed their value to their members big time.
Now as far as the association. You are hell bent I know on picketing. I guess you think you still work for AA. Wake the f _ _ _ up. You work for US Airways that kept the AA name. Parker could and does care less how much we info picket as long as his passengers and flights go out on time. That’s all that matters to him. We can picket every day, and it will have zero effect other than making the members feel that they are doing something. As long as we continue to work as we are, the info picketing again will have zero effect. But you go ahead and keep crying on why we weren’t there. Again, give me a call, so you can give me the names of the twu guys you talked to.
