Dave--

Any Plan Participant can log on to IAMNPF.org and access all kinds of substantive info. There are other reports available on request. No one here has to take my word for it if they don't want to.

Look, this plan needs AA workers to stay in it. To lose them means a very real risk of future benefit cuts (much like we saw when NW left the Plan).

Again, everyone Participant has access to these, and I would highly encourage people to do so. After all, it's their future.

Are you suggesting that LAA will face a choice in the contract?

Well, thank you very much.

I wore a Red Shirt and my NRA Jacket to the polls today.
Some might call it Electioneering.

Oh I am SO not surprised about your Red Shirt and NRA Jacket.

Good Team Player. Lol.

I hear the IAM has changed the rules on receiving the pension once again, any truth to that...No agenda here, just a simple question.

Yes they have. The rules involve where one can/cannot work while continuing to receive pension benefits, and were changed about 6 weeks ago?

I just looked at the IAMPF page and they sent this letter out the end of October.

Thanks for posting that. Plan Participants received written notification several weeks ago. It was not well received in places like DTW. This looks like an attempt to clarify some things.

Just another reason not to go with the IAMPF.
This rule should have been dropped permanently. Just more restrictions added back in to refuse payment due. Think of all those folks who are already working (because of the rule relax back in 2015) and now they will have to quit to continue their pensions just because they wanted to change the rules with no say so what so ever from any participating member. Some will not even know this rule change was done and will stop receiving pension payments all of a sudden. A sad and stupid a$$ rule.
Why is the PF reinstating this old and outrageous rule to further restrict the participating members from receiving pension fund payments. A huge reason to NEVER get into pensions ran by unions...

You’re welcome. Although changes aren’t popular no matter how they’re made. I do hope whatever changes they make can give all a better sense of security that the fund will be more financially secure for when they go to collect.

Again why I always stress to have lots of retirement legs on that chair.

I believe that says that you can work and still collect. The restrictions are ... you can’t work for an employer that contributes to the fund and you can’t work in the craft or class. Other than that, you can still collect.

Correct. Why ANY restrictions to go back to work? It's fuking stupid. Why would they restrict anyone to go back into the field they know best as PT or FT. They know that field and would be very easy to fall back into it for extra money.
Why can't someone go work for another employer that contributes? Why is that exactly?? Fuking stupid a$$ rules just to be able to crawl out of paying the members their well deserved pension payments. The union ran pensions are a fuking fraud. Never get into them guys. By doing so the union will hold onto you guys forever.
Trust me I have seen and read the list it is long. Again, why is there any restrictions on where or who you go work for??? It's just an fuking excuse for the unions to get out of paying to the members. Why else would there be restrictions.
Let's see, with my 401K there are No, NONE, NOTTA restrictions for who or class or craft I wanna go back and work for. Hmmm, imagine that, nothing to worry about my retirement payments not gonna stop...

Not looking to argue any person’s personal retirement preference. I understand the arguments for and against both. I was just clarifying the pension language. Nothing more.

Why the long spill for a company you don't even work for, or a union you will never belong to.It's not like a union pension is social security or a military retirement where the US government justs pours money into it, and socks the taxpayer. A union pension can only get from the people in the union, and whatever they invest it in. More and more people are not in unions therefore less money comes in. YOU TELLING THESE GUYS HOW THEIR PENSION SHOULD WORK, IS LIKE YOU TELLING A PILOT HOW TO FLY.

oil under $60/bbl today and no airline looks set to rescind any fare hikes/bag fee hikes.

not feeling the doom and gloom of higher oil that would negatively affect our contract.

onus also falls on parker and kerr. not too often does anyone get a second chance to correct a huge mistake. would they consider hedging if oil falls under $55/bbl? as of last month, the answer is still a very strong no.

last quarter, 3q'18...aa spent $2.234 billion on jet fuel for mainline and another $506 million for RJ service.

we'll buy over 4 billion gallons for the year. i'd believe that fixing 15%-20% of your fuel costs is gold, for our industry.
