American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

Can anyone Please advise me how can I get a job with American Airlines? Any part-time position... I've been applying online for fleet services for the past 4 years, did the assessment test (passed it) and didn't get selected for interview. I really don't know what I am doing wrong... my resume is really strong and all I've been getting that I wasn't selected. Is there any way, for example a telephone number (talent center, human resource hiring office, etc.) that I can get in contact and find out some more info.
Thanks.

The Major Airlines get tons of applications every time they open up their employment pages for new recruits. I’m sure you’re doing nothing wrong at all.

Best bet if you want to get in (period) is to put in for all the openings you see around the Country anywhere. If not that then you’re also at least better off applying at a Hub where they hire occasionally in spurts.

Other items that help your chances is knowing someone who will recommend you (Someone with a good reputation) or taking any job at all on the ramp at an Airport. You have a leg up when they know you already have an AOA badge and a Customs seal because AA knows they won’t be wasting their time offering you the job.

Best of luck.

The OP needs to be the beneficiary of an arbitrary, subjective judgement like was rendered on you 05/1995.

WASHINGTON, Nov. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Transport Workers Union of America (TWU) Air Division Locals, representing more than 17,000 airline ground workers, welcomed a new partner for strategic planning, Cowtown Creative of Fort Worth, TX. Directly engaged in this campaign are TWU Locals 501, 502, 505, 507, 510, 512, 513, 514, 529, 567 and 591.

TWU International Vice President Gary Petersonsaid the partnership will focus on creating connections and bringing to light the challenges Local members are facing with American Airlines, which they are dedicated to support. "The current offshoring plan demands that TWU members agree to losing thousands of U.S.-based jobs in favor of cheaper foreign labor," he said. "Our members are vested in the safety and security of airline passengers and flight crews; contract workers are not. This campaign is designed to directly connect with families, friends and neighbors, and that's the story we want Cowtown Creative to tell."

The partnership is designed to connect the stories of union members and the airline passengers they serve, according to Brian Parker, Strategic Action Coordinator for TWU Local 513.

"The Transport Workers Union and these respective Locals are dedicated to working collectively to find solutions that serve the greater good," he explained. "Cowtown Creative has built a reputation on years of honest and engaging campaigns that work to influence positive outcomes. That element is essential to our mission of securing the best future for our members and air travelers nationwide."

Cowtown Creative CEO Amy Day said it's not unfamiliar territory for the agile marketing consulting firm. "It's an exciting time to be working with TWU and supporting its members," Day said. "We believe in telling the stories that connect us with each other. That's what we'll be doing for the TWU members these Locals represent."

MEANWHILE, the so-called "Fighting Machinists" are not contributing one thin dime to this fight once again. (Forget that ingrate, selfish guy in Miami.) Hopefully, if we ever get a joint CBA the IAM Members who become part of the TWU will finally wake up to the fact that the IAM Locals at AA are pimps to their International leadership and can't do anything on their own. I feel bad for the TWU Members who become part of the IAM. They will miss what Local autonomy brings to the table. They will miss the fight at the Local level. I appreciate the importance of guide dogs but once again the IAM spends their money on great social issues in Las Vegas and won't spend a dime to put up a public fight against this greedy airline for workers. "Fighting" Machinists? Haven't seen it yet.

Airlines are holding fast with higher fares and fees even as fuel prices slide, which could be a good sign for the stocks.

Where we were: Long considered a value trap, airlines have become more attractive in recent years.

Where we’re headed: Good times are here to stay, says Macquarie, given airline managements’ improved strategy and growing profits.

jet fuel windfall 2.0 will only paper over the cracks at aa. after dl finished with their pricey hedges and everything balanced out between aa/dl/ua by 2017, aa is now a solid #3. ua getting PR today after it's ceo gave up his first class seat to an elderly woman and took her seat in coach. it's campy, but the public loves it.

the key is not to allow the company to cry poor. $hitty compensation and a hard-line on scope? no budging? look for a can opener and go after profit sharing.

someone will pay if the company ends up forking over hundreds of millions a year in profit sharing, instead of spending tens of millions a year on contract enhancements and an industry leading contract to vote on.

They’re not currently showing any Fleet Service Agent/Clerk openings anywhere in the system. If they are hiring in DCA they may be drawing names off the applications already received?

Your TWU handler, Sister Peterson, is double spending his members money. Your Local President was very smart as it simply is not smart to piss away more members money over a rogue action by some TWU Locals. But the question remains, where is the IAM? You can't blame your own Local President for withholding support if you don't blame your IAM Handlers because once again, the IAM does NOT financially support the move of hiring a expensive consulting firm. And, separate from all of that, you knuckleheads make us look bad with all of this division. Myself, the members, and Uncle Jerry all see a divided union when the IAM is NOWHERE to be found in this rogue decisions by some TWU Locals. I'm not a fan of the IAM but you and your TWU handler Sister Peterson (The underwear video guy) need to stop making us look like complete idiots. If the knuckleheads want to do actions of solidarity then they need to follow the most basic Solidarity 101 rule and not do something without full consent. And until you also place blame on the IAM, your tantrum will only confirm your bitterness for your Local President due to your only getting 9 single votes (8 plus your own).

But we are idiots! And we will continue to be idiots until WE put an end to this abortion of an association and get back to being a unified workforce.

Here is the rest of the story. Cowtown creations was registered within 4 miles of Doug Parker's residence in Arizona. Ironically, it now claims to be from Dallas and within walking distance from guess who? Now, it could be a coincidence that its 14455 North Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85260 address switched over in Texas as the same time Mr Parker moved headquarters there, but what isn't a coincidence is that haunting fact that this consulting firm mission is to help corporations and has no record of wearing the union label or helping unions. That is troublesome when there are countless consulting firms who are union shops and EXIST to help consult unions and union branding. So the question becomes, why did Sister Peterson and Mr Brian Parker seek out this obscure firm? A firm whose website is half baked with selfies and buzz lightyear jumping from a cliff?

And which of them may have actually known one of the 4 girls who run the shop? Nepotism or more going on here? Something seems wrong. I mean, why piss away money on an obscure consulting firm that has a mission to help corporations? Either someone knew someone, or Creativeconsulting is a management shill?

And BTW, the TWU already has a staff on payroll that serves as branding and communication. Are they not good enough? They certainly make tons.

Sorry, but something seems fishy when one can stand at Doug Parker's house and throw a rock and hit the address that this scam consulting firm is registered at. Whether Arizona or Texas unless I'm just being too much of a conspiracy theorist.

And Weez supports this scam consulting front because his handlers require him to? Really?
