ill be hammering the pay as well. Really havent had to get involved at delta FA or ramp to organize against the iam since the iam isnt significant there after 9 years.
For those of you who really want a union, you arent going to get one by having the iam ask you to sign cards every year.
In fact, my guess is that they have a pre filled out card since they already have cards from years gone by.
When i was hired as Director, the iam was doin a ramp campaign at continental. 10 Fn years. I had conference calls with the iam committees. All of them said the campaign was fine.
I went to cle, ewr, iah. Over 30 days i sat down with over 200 rampers. They were honest. they hated the iam for lying. the iam was using them for the FAs. I called roach and said we are pulling out of continental cuz tommy reagon corrupted it cuz he has been a passive leader. Then it was explained that they had to spend the money due to aflcio guidelines and to keep territory rights. I told him no deal cuz i didnt wanna be involved in bullshit.
So i felt it was better to have the ibt organize then we pick them up afterwards.
Kev, if your group just wants to keep management honest, then the iam is the right choice.
If you guys want a union then once my group wins a property, ill sit down with you guys if you want, and we will getr done within 6 months

4 votes cuz of 18 iam write ins. Teamsters won. This was after the psa merger but prior to piedmont merger.
