American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

I hope you don't think fleet service is immune to outsourcing! Neither is facilities/plant maintenance and automotive. For years the TWU basked in the fact that the word "outsourcing" only applied to aircraft maintenance. They gladly took pushbacks and deicing away from aircraft maintenance and turned it over to fleet. I don't recall ANY fleet service clerk saying they cared about our job losses! They hopped in the tugs and deicing buckets with the TWU's blessing.
Fleet service needs to see the reality that deicing should be outsourced. But the big difference is that there will be no job loss due the fact that is not a 365 day a year function. The only thing lossed is good overtime. In your words...."what SCENE does that make?
If you are happy to rid AA of thousands of mechanics, then we should be happy to outsource as much fleet service work as possible....deal?????
Since we can't have 10k mx service 100 planes??????/ It's more like a thousand planes!

Maybe we have too many fleet service employees...????.
They outsouced plenty of Fleet postions over the years and they try for more with each contract same with MTC and Customer service. If you had your own union (doesnt matter which one)they probably wouldnt give up those jobs so easily.TWU/IAM dont care who the dues comes from as long as they get it

I could be wrong, but I think it’s in the neighborhood of 16000, somebody correct me please.
For SW to provide that kind of contract to you guys is easy and cheap.
My point was I think it is a good deal, you have people want to torpedo the ship for $1.00 more. If they would provide this to American Airlines guys, without more outsourcing gaining the stuff back, you guys lost in 2003. It would pass by over 80%!

Tim:

What will Sito do for his LLCer “brothers and sisters” if STL gets contracted out?

Josh
he is in a jam. He will hose lus. Company may start being more aggressive. 84 dca iam jobs are doin express, at this time.

Never cared to deice, and good riddance to it. And don’t care to make overtime for the exception of that juicy holiday offer.

I think the majority would pass it as is, by 51% yes it is narrow but it only takes that one vote.

Here at LGA UAL and Dl mainline do the express work.Dl has hundreds of express flights food for thought. Sito

Keen on that 22 cents are you
Why? because I have an opinion...Like I told your buddy W many times, money means nothing to me anymore. After thirty five years I managed my money well...But who said I would vote yes. You picking up a few of W's, >SPITMONT<, watchers traits there Al? Just when I thought this place was getting safe throwing out opinions... 🙂

Can we please stop fighting each other and definitely stop advocating we outsource each other's jobs? Is this really what you think should happen?

I do not consider any work transferred between different TWU or IAM Title Groups at AA, not Envoy, to be outsourcing. If deicing was moved back to maintenance I would not complain. I do not want to see it 'outsourced' to another company. We really need to stop fighting each other and start fighting for each other or things will get even worse. smh.

I would not vote for the current company offer.

Thing is the groups are separate.

To vote or to fight on can be independent of each other.

We can each get a fair contract.
