Not trying to put words in your mouth. Only stating that you come on board to the negotiating team since the executiveteam has been in control. But earlier versions of your team would tell you they had several meetings with the company. Just didn’t know if you realized that. You have one person still there from your original team. He can tell you how many times we met directly with the company.

Where did it said it was from day 1?

We are not briefed on the specifics. You poll many TWU members and they will tell you the hold up is LUS HealthCare. I haven't heard anyone mention PT. I haven't heard anyone mention Pension.
In fairness, I have heard deicing was somewhat of an issue. But overwhelmingly, the majority of fleet see your healthcare as the non starter. Again, the Association is not doing a good job of informing the TWU...
No matter what you do to inform people it’s never enough unless you tell them everything after every meeting on what was passed and what went on. If you did that, then you might as well not have a negotiating team, just start out negotiating with the membership, and put things out for a vote say every 6 months or so. In break rooms I have briefed, Yes I state insurance is a hold up, along with scope, pension/401k , pt cap, profit sharing, and a few other things. When the executive side for the IAM did station visits the past month or so, they talked about all these issues. I have offered to talk to anyone that has questions about any of the issues. You can PM me anytime and I’ll give you my cell. Information is out there to be had, if people really want it. Having stated all that, I agree the official briefings are pretty generic and not very detailed. That’s why you have some of us, that try and get as much info out as we can.

Well said CB.

If you are saying you didn’t mean from day 1? Great!! We are on the same page then. I just wanted to clarify it in case people read it the way I did.

It didn't say day one so it didn't mean day one.
Again. To me the wording “ all meetings “ could have meant exactly that “ all meetings” but I think you have made the point clear that’s not what you meant.

this blog is very informative. to me, it's spring-loaded towards lus/iam fleet being more in the know than laa/twu fleet, just due to guys like prez & charlie brown and even racer x and piedmont along with tim nelson posting about combined issues, but mostly iam issues.

from laa side, like him or not, i think weaasles talks about laa/twu issues and NYer's posts have to be read. i didn't even know he was mia local president, now he's on the actual negotiating committee? if so, i think we'll get direct answers to most questions in record time, but i believe he will tighten up a bit about some queries.

an example is weaasles told me on this blog that aa's scope language could mean lavs contracted out. i spoke with someone with 30 years, does lavs and she confidently told me that there is no way the company can contract out lavs, due to maintenance can't work with 3rd parties on lav issues..etc.

i told her that maybe the company will change that in the AMT contract and then they will be able to contract out lavs...

...so, she does lavs and she didn't know or hear from other lav drivers that they might be in danger of losing their gigs.

this is the twu.

The company wants the LUS language regarding lavs and we don't do lavs everywhere now!

yes, i knew you guys didn't/don't do lavs in ord, for example.

i don't even know if there is something in laa's AMT contract that forbids a 3rd party working laa's lavs. i'm assuming if that is true and aa wants lus' lav scope language, they will have to change the AMT contract on that issue.

my point was, she does lavs, has a good gig and she didn't even know her job may be in jeopardy. at the end of the day, i believe the company will drop that demand.

I wouldn't bet the farm on that!

No tightening. Say it like I see it.

...and I'm to believe there are not differences between the "higher ups" as well.
Go ahead, offer me that Ocean view property in Chicago...

I wouldn't bet the farm on that!

we'll see. they just did that with deicing..just grab as much as you can, only to 'give back' and say you compromised. i'm sure our guys are smarter than that.

No tightening. Say it like I see it.

well, i meant specifics. as in; what is your personal red line on this (wages) or that (pt ratio/%). that, i understand keeping under your hat.
