American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

No. The Association is the perfect example of how not to do it. Born in the most undemocratic manner, so far all it has done is drive wedges.

Unfortunately again I have to agree and say at least outwardly the two sides don’t come across as if they’re on the same page and pushing towards the same goals.

More a Marriage of convenience rather than mutual trust and respect.

But I’ll still support both of them over the Company every day of the week. 🙂

who makes excuses for their fleet make-up? the fact that they only fly 737s or did you mean something else? i'd think southwest can use that advantage with pilots, training and parts.

i remember when an alaska air s-80 went down and they 'self-grounded' their s-80s for awhile. to me, southwest, mainly, got a break early this summer worth billions when the faa didn't even consider that.

the winning aa used to wait..bide it's time and let delta wrestle with the new md-11 and united with the new 777. let those airlines work out the kinks and spotty reliability with mcdonnell-douglas/boeing and angry passengers.

the new aa has how many different types of planes?
A bunch, same as Delta!

Absurd, no matter what they do? Support what you think is the lesser of 2 evils. You would respected and better serve being critical of both when needed

Critiquing is one thing Al. I can do that. But being consistently and ridiculously condemning is what I consider to be absurd. (And F’d up too)

I’m sorry but no. When I inquired about going for an A&P being told that I would lose at least 10 years of my life on Midnights was a MASSIVE deterrent.

If I had went to Trade School I would have taken up Heating and Refrigeration instead. They work during the day and many make more than you.

My Brother is a “Rigger” with his own Business. He earns around $350,000 per year. And he didn’t even graduate High School. (Airline Mechanics are cool but kind of on the lower end of skilled trades by Compensation frankly)

Actually the “Fight for $15” and rising Airport Minimums is making it more and more difficult for the Company to be able to easily replace us. But just like you guys the more we demand in wages, the more they want to try and replace us.

Can’t load a Flight from MIA to DFW out of a Hanger in Brazil though. Can send a plane there though.

TWU is an Acronym. I wasn’t crazy about the performance of the TWU people under the leadership of James Little quite honestly but I like the “people” working under the leadership of John Samuelsen.

BTW who’s A$$ do you kiss? The Company’s?

Not a company man and not a TWU kiss ass like urself...I want a trade union that don't lump us in With non-skilled people like urself...only for the TWU to gain extra dues that are salary based...

First off, I began as a mechanic at 18 years old with my A, P and FCC licenses...

I started at a non-union carrier, making $15 hr in 1993...I made $38,000 my first year (18yrs old) then worked my way up to avionics, flight mechanic, avionics manager...my last year I made $138,000...that was in 1997...I left and started over at AA because I wanted a long term plan...the airline I worked for was a fly by night and eventually went under in 2000....So as far as a lower skilled level...ur about three steps below a librarian...she has to deal with the Dewey decimal system...and usually has to have a college degree...again ur job a GED suffices or probably overqualifies u....

Forget about Brazil, AA wants a min of 75% part timers in fleet, so they dont have to pay benefits and totally outsource fleet at most smaller stations..I can walk off and get a job with the MTA, BNSF railroad, Boeing, or any other airline and walk in Starting at $30+ an hour to start...and u can too-about a dollar over a Walmart greeter...

I hope you have a better grasp of the English language , and grammar, because you write like an uneducated idiot.

Now how do we tell that to the individuals at AA about this idea? They just don't care or are brain washed.
They have to figure it out for themselves. I do try and send in my pointers but it seems most are not getting them at all. This tells me they need to be edumacated. And others are as you state, brainwashed.
