American Airlines and Labor Negotiations

So I guess I'm still confused on the "when and where so directed". Does this mean jobs we have can be outsourced when they say?
In other words catering we keep with signature of contract but two days later they decide they want to outsource it. Same with Cargo or anything that falls under "when and where so directed", gone when they say gone?
that’s the way I read it we have catering here, but could you imagine the number of jobs it would be if they decided to contract cargo at DFW or MIA?

Yes, anything with the "when and where" needs to be addressed. That's crazy...

American Takes the Fight to the Floor

Brothers and Sisters,

American Airlines has made the determination to try changing the negotiations from the bargaining table to directly bargaining in the breakrooms, on the shop floor, and on the ramp. Their direct appeal to TWU and IAM members represented by the Association is an end-around rarely seen by the most anti-union employers during contract negotiations. They want to test your solidarity.

The documents they posted on JetNet do show significant gains the Association achieved so far in negotiations. The Company gave nothing out of their generosity – the improvements you see are the result of the hard work of your negotiators. But, don’t be fooled – IT IS NOT ENOUGH!

Work is not protected. They think they can fool us by making a promise that everyone will have a job in their current location. What they will not tell you is that they will replace work performed by those who leave by using vendors or by sending the work out of the country altogether. Retirement is still inadequate, healthcare is unresolved and the industry worst profit sharing still outweighs any wage gains. If we caved into American’s demands a year ago, the gains we did achieve would not be there. If we cave in now, the job security, healthcare, and retirement you have earned and deserve are guaranteed not to be there.

Our message is simple. Tell the Company IT IS NOT ENOUGH! Tell them to get back to the table and finish the job. The Association negotiators are ready and waiting.

Show your solidarity – your future and the best contract in the industry depends on it.

Fraternally,

Your Association Negotiating Committees

Fake news. All our work is under scope except catering and a couple seasonal deicing stations.
They will stay in constant hiring mode or call in OT.
Who is going to do ramp work in phx if someone calls out sick? Pbi? Fll? tpa, jax?
This contract is something i can recommend for a vote, if i were twu i would recommend if i got the $3000 matching.
Then let the members decide.
I could care less who gets credit, if the committee signed the fleet with recommendation then a job well done.
Stop the lies and stop this retirement block.

Notice the date of the proposal. Feb 2019.
For 2 months? Wow. So the co. put this info out since the union wasn't going to? Incredible...

If its anything like what the CWA has then it wont be good. I would hope folks wld vote based on scope rather than money but given the length of time n all the bs ive seen on here i highly doubt that'll occur.
robbed, how does the scope look? Is it as bad as the union made out to believe??

The Union is not representing you and is not negotiating for you. They are representing themselves and negotiating for their long term future nothing more!

SWA did the very same thing with us. Started sending out info via email to all the mechanics to try and get the membership to apply pressure on the NC to bring it out for a vote. This will be up to you guys in the end.
Gotta love where the union is taking full responsibility for nego everything. I do believe the SWA wages offer was directly tied to the SWA/AMFA agreement reached, and they would have never had that offer if AMFA/SWA didn't have a T/A as of yet. Below is the para with them taking full responsibility...

Now that's funny...

Is there anything that is listed under Tentative that the Union could be considered to have "given" something to the company in the negotiations?

The ASS got out played now they’re trying to do damage control

Brian Parker spoke as a representative of the Association at the last SOTA event and asked for the FULL language to be released by the Company.

Now it’s out. Good.

I expect next for the Association to release the details of where they stand and what exactly we are asking for on those outstanding issues.

We do know on Scope all that is now being asked is to keep all the work we currently own and do.

The fact that the Company did publicly release what they are asking for sets up a whole new ballgame that has never been seen before in the Airline Industry.

Rarely? Um, no.

That’s literally what happens every freakintime.

Actually there are dates on every article some date back to 2017

Who wrote this for you?!

I can think of at least 4 different times this has happened before- at thats just off the top of my head.

Yes I know. I had already wrote those dates out.
