Embarassing isn’t the word. Watching Sammy and his boy toy Gary surrouned by fleet service local union wannabes while their Messiah roars was priceless.
share your plan. what would you suggest? sit around and wait for people to sign cards? sit on the sidelines and throw rocks? what the hell are you doing? share the plan, and getting a new union unfortunately is not going to happen no matter how many times we klick our heels together and wish. sometime the enemy of my enemy is my maybe friend...until the war is over? really some of you guys are truly pathetic.

then retreat to the closet and blush with embarrassment in the dark. again what would you suggest?

DFW probably what I had to do suck it up, support your union, work diligently , if it's broken, it's broken. When management realized they can't intimidate you, with a few Air21 lawsuits, and the FAA crawling up their ass, you will probably get a deal you can all live with.

I ‘ll tell you what I would NOT do and that is to threaten to leash the BLOODIEST AND UGLIEST LABOR BATTLE the world has ever seen. Sorry not moved at all.
It’s very easy to talk tough but unless the bigmouth brothers put their uniforms on and hit the ramp, so until then, they’re just big mouth union tough guys.
It’s funny that the big mouth wants a VP fired for his potty mouth, but it’s ok for a union tough guy to make threats involving blood and ugliness.

Sounds hypocritical to me.

I would drop the demand for the iampf. I would go for the swa plus 7 Parker promised highest plus 7 then 3 hold him to his original 7. Then get the 7 weeks of vacation. Get caps on insurance that members can live with. But the remark were wanting to hire our kids and grandkids. That’s my problem they want work on items that get us more pay. And then time off quality of life. They need to come to a scope agreement of what we have now with tweeks. But I never here the association mention pay and benefits just trying to protect people not even born. That has never worked for us. I would work some bridge to retirement also. But I would get pros at the table lawyers financial people that know . People that can read interpret the language and make sure no loop holes like we have had in past. And I would give updates that included every proposal counter proposals both sides . Signed by both party’s of who was actually in the room. Since the association want release the proposals we have no idea what was talked about. So we are left in the dark. Sorry a video dose not do it for me. I want it in writing so I can and others read side by side comparison. To where the company is and where the union is. I would ask for retro and parity of other airlines as they get raises. Either get a profit Sharing compared to delta United are southwest . If not get a bigger raise. But since the association dose not listen to it’s members. Then I can come on here and *****. If they listened to us then I would not be bitching. But they have there agenda and that is the iampf. And hiring grandkids who aren’t even born yet. I have a big problem with that. Take care of the people all ready paying dues. And get it done;

I know you spoke up against amfa . And I would support the association if they would listen to us members . And release the proposals signed by both party’s . No more he said she said. It will be in writing. Amfa did not keep its members in the dark. Look at our board versus your board. We have speculation and the unknown on our board.its hard to support the association blindly. And I don’t remember amfa threaten to shutdown the airline that dose not work. Eastern airlines comes to mind. It’s better to stay on job and do your job. That’s my big problem with the association. We are the members and we need to be informed not some silly videos with nothing in writing. If they want my support and others release the proposals.

Dear United team member, We are pleased to share some good news about steps United has taken to strengthen the IAM National Pension Fund and protect your retirement benefits. Over the last several weeks, United has met with the IAM to discuss the issues facing the IAM National Pension Fund. As a result of our collaborative discussions, United and the IAM have jointly agreed to the NPF’s Preferred Schedule of the Rehabilitation Plan. This means that United chose to increase the Company’s financial contribution to ensure your future monthly benefit at age 65 will not be reduced because of the Rehabilitation Plan. United does not make this commitment lightly. It reflects the loyalty of the company and its leaders to the men and women who have worked so hard to ensure the success of the airline we love. IAM District 141 Union Representatives have been briefed by representatives of the IAM National Pension Plan and will be in the field meeting with employees and answering questions over the comingweeks. Contact your IAM District 141 office for more details. In addition, the IAM NPF has created avideo to help explain the Rehabilitation Plan in more detail. If you have additional questions, please contact the IAM NPF directly at 866-232-1296
I disagree. Run like hell from these Pensions. Get a nice matching 401K where you manage the money not some stranger that you don't even know and hoping and praying he made the right moves with all your money. Why in the world is United throwing their money out the door on something that will just again later need to be saved again as more and more employees and employers move away from the Pensions and going with the traditional 401K's. This is why AA is being begged to get back into these IAM pension funds, so they could try surviving them, but they will just fail again at a later date, watch and learn, it happens every year, smaller and smaller participation until one day GONE...

i get it and agree, but again what would you do to accomplish the demands? what actions should we take? not confront them? sit at home and wait for it to happen? what WOULD YOU SUGGEST WE DO TO ACCOMPISH THE ABOVE DEMANDS?

WeAAz will remind you to read the constitution. Once the union is voted in the can do whatever they want on YOUR behalf.

I AGREE 100 % but we have to work with what we have. again i ask what actions do we take? give m a plan a suggestion to accomplish the goals we want. as some point however distressful it is we have to come to together for a common goal. believe me i despise the association and am not real fond of the two but until we get a new union what do we do to get to where we need to be? sitting around bitching and complaining gets us no where.

im as frustrated as anyone, quite frankly i can finally applaud the twu for confronting isom, it takes a set of balls to get up there and speak in front of a crowd and do what they did. feel free to accomplish the feat yourself at anytime.its easy to seat anonymously behind a key board stand up and accomplish something. the onle things they understand is losing money and public embarrassment. the question on sars and force majure was classic isom did not want to hear that.

it unbelievable some of these idiots will ***** and complain and accomplish nothing. they can demand and i understand that but what actions do we take to get where we want to be. at some point you have to put **** aside and realize the enemy of my enemy could be an ally if not a friend.

First of all I would not declare that I am saving our grandkids under the guise of protecting union dues. The TWU should cut the crap out and admit it’s about the dues. On the medical, Lower the LAA and raise the LUS. Maybe halfway with a cap. If any LUS wants to keep their IAMNPF let them but no 401k match. On scope, work out a minimum number of heads to maintain tied into the number of buyouts. The 401k language must be contractual and iron clad. There must also be pension protecting language even though it’s frozen.

Yes I bitched and moaned , because I was convinced in my head, we would turn into Northwest. But we remained focused, professional, and didn't take ex Northwest management bait. Your Association may be slow, but for now it's all you guys have. So you can't get enough interest with card drives. Working as a Team, to come to a deal is your best game. You biggest assets are each other, and your pilots, use them.
