As one US are we allowed?

The 321 (or more accurately, some 321's) could be a different situation soon, since deliveries start next year (1st quarter I think) and those aircraft aren't covered by the pilot's transition agreement. Likewise, the new 332's, 340's, or 350's when they arrive.

In the Transition Agreement, the "EAST" fleet plan includes 13 additional 321's, 6 additional 320's and 20 350's. The "WEST" fleet plan includes 8 320's and 3 319's.

I understand the "new" Airbus order may have included more aircraft than these, but I would think the first ones (321) would have to go to the East side as they are included in the fleet plan but have an earlier delivery date. This may get sticky absent a new contract before the actual aircraft deliveries...

I do agree that any new 330's or 340's will have to be split like the 190 and new 757's...

The way I see it, OldPaGuy is right.

Piedmont, Allegheny, PSA, Trump is US Airways--you are right about that.

America West feels very foreign in culture, mission, vision, and philosophy.

I don't see us being one, unfortunately. 'tear'


As an AWA guy...the AWA philosophy is foreign.
Our product is (not due to employees) horrible. Interiors. Seat pitch. Policies. Food.
Intimidation and policies that affect flight attendants. Pay parity of East not being up
there with West. Ditching non revs that are at the gate checked in for on time ( a
big no no.) Our product sucks, yet it's not our fault. We come here everyday in hopes to make it better.

I think we can be one culture one day...but we need someone like Gordon Bethune to do it.
It won't happen under Doug, Scott, Elise, or the new guy that just came to town. Doug is a Wolf Jr.
Let's try to build it up and sell it.

Some things to keep in mind:

- 7 of the 15 321's are new orders, while the other 8 were converted from 319/320's.

- The transition agreement fleet plan lists specific airframes in each fleet by either tail number or delivery date. If neither of those match an aircraft delivery, if could be argued that the airplane isn't included in the transition agreement's fleet plan. There are no 321's in the East fleet plan with 2008 delivery dates. That's why I included the A350's also - there are no 350's in the US fleet plan with delivery dates after 2013. East can try to stake a claim on the 350's coming in 2011, 2012, & 2013, but may have a problem with those delivered thereafter.

And to add, I complain like everyone else here, or elsewhere, but I am glad we are finally US Airways. I am sorry for all the Piedmont, Alleghany, and PSA folks, that OUR airlines were taken over, etc. But I am looking toward the future and not back! So how bout those contracts????? :lol: :lol:

Obviously somebody who will get to keep all of his or her seniority in the integration.

Hasn't been run "properly" in the near 30 years I've been here.
 
Isn't the emergency equipment in different locations for West and East? That would mean cross-training first.

Also, East crews stay together, while West crews don't, so there may be a scheduling conflict.

What about catering? Let's totally confuse those poor folks! :blink:

No. The transition agreement, at least for the pilots, keep East pilots on East metal and West pilots on West metal until "pilot integration", which requires a combined contract.

The ALPA Transition Agreement specifies aircraft by tail number that may only be flown by their respective pilot group.

New aircraft are a different issue.
