Atheism

I will dismiss them out of hand and resist the temptation to argue with fools. So sayeth the Sparrowhawk, So it is written, so shall it be! September 38, 2011AD

You're going to have to dismiss a lot more than that if you think it's the 38th of anything...

Your version of ‘intelligent debate’ is when everyone agrees with your ignorance?

Lol, you meant intelligent, non-delusional thinking. And all I've ask is that you keep up. So far, that just hasn't been happening. Hell, it appears that even something as simple as formatting your responses correctly is just too much to ask.

Look, literally everything, and I do mean everything, you've posted is either a blatant falsehood, or an emotive release of some nature. You have offered literally nothing to substantiate your opinions on matters of faith. A crayoned in poem? That's supposed to convince anyone of what exactly?
Intelligent debate is not in your cognitive thinking. Flippant remarks, dodge and innuendoes is not a debate. You gave me a numbered list and I replied, but you don’t have the integrity to answer but try your transference retort in an attempt to make it my fault for your failing.
If you choose not to accept my retorts, it is entirely your ‘choice’. Clearly, you reject anything I have posted based on my beliefs and not content. Then call me a bigot.
I have been ‘fear tested’ and passed!

I doubt it. The reason I keep coming back to the whole xUT is deeply afraid of what DarkSnowyNight has to say meme is because it is absolutely true. I deal only in facts (hence the whole "no faith" thing) and I do not win any brownie points for pretending to be ignorant. Your continued and almost universally reactionary attacks to comments that weren't even directed to you in the first place tell me in no uncertain terms that you are not as faithful as you claim, that you know deep down in there the same thing I do. That when you die, you end, period. The difference is that to you that is not acceptable. There is no other reason why you would feel the need to react that viscerally and emotionally when confronted with that reality.
Of course, when you are indefensible, you attempt to attack the character. I am not afraid of you and your ilk.
I have done things in my life that would make you pi$$ your pants (or skirt as the case may be). You accuse me of reacting “viscerally and emotionally”, not hardly, look at your own posts and see who is irrational.

Understand something while we're on the topic. There are indeed things in life that I'm afraid of. I can say that because I'd rather that be known than parading around in invisible clothing, so to speak. I'll freely admit that a letter from the former spouse, or the Corporate Standards Board can easily ruin my whole day. But when it comes to religion or god or the easter bunny or whatever, no, I am very much a "foxhole atheist." Faith is useless once you've seen it for what it is.

“Foxhole Atheist” says it all. No further retort required.

I'm going to do you a favor. Please understand that since I am aware of this, I will not direct any further comments to you xUT (on this subject anyway), as it is genuinely not my intention to cause you the level of anxiety that hearing the facts about this issue so obviously does. I cannot help what you choose to take from anywhere else in this matter of course. But feel free to ignore my comments, as again, it is not my intention to cause you anxiety and loathing with regard to the inescapable human condition of mortality.

You are going to do me a favor? That’s rich…
If you don’t want to debate, then say so! Oh yea, I forgot you have no integrity.

Professing themselves to be wise they became fools. They worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator.

Definitely not all. In '89 I was held up at gun point by two men where I used to work. I can replay it moment by moment in my head and a plea to a supernatural being never entered my mind. I distinctly recall thinking that getting shot at close range by what looked like a 9mm was going to royally suck and probably not end well. I recall hoping that none of the mall rent a cops showed up to do something stupid. I also recall wondering how long it would be till I was discovered and hope I had not bled out by then.

My parents are holocaust survivors and both completely lost faith. They saw the worst that man kind has to offer and concluded that no benevolent god could allow that to happen to innocent men women and children. There were others who faith was hardened by surviving such hell on earth but it was not all.

Since it's Sunday🙂

Remember I said fear and foreboding, a more prolonged state of mind which gives one the opportunity to reflect. Your situation was more akin to alarm, shock and panic - although sounds like you dealt with it in a level headed way.

Would it be presumptuous to speculate that if asked, your parents would say they have witnessed true evil, and further that evil is a malignant, destructive, directed force - and not just a random mutation in the moral/psychic fabric of society.

I am not sure what you mean by directed verses random, can you please expand upon this.

Here's an interesting tidbit regarding the Atheist hatred, bigotry and contempt for all things Christian. Is the ACLU cowardice regarding Islam OR something far more hideous? Atheists have long used the ACLU as it's surrogate and at least to me the apparent double standard and hatred of Christians is well documented.

Apparently it's OK to hate Christians but not OK to be skeptical of gay marriage and Islamic prayer is OK. Talk about the bizarro world. Face it folks if you're Christian you're hated by Atheists, The evidence piles up like cord wood for the winter.

the ACLU is defending the right of Muslims to exercise prayer in public schools in San Diego… Really?

Is that a change of heart or the expression of a cowardly and terrified heart? It is most likely the latter. Let me explain.

Over the last 40 years or so, the ACLU has terrified many school boards, school administrators, and school children by threatening to drag them into court if they pray in public.

A few years ago, they terrified many coaches and sporting event coordinators by warning them that if they dare pray in public, the ACLU would bring about the full weight of their false interpretation of the Establishment Clause.

Took a little bit of digging but here is the whole story. Not that you would be too concerned with that.

A controversy has been mounting at Carver Elementary in San Diego about the role of religion and prayer in public schools – and particularly Islamic prayers. (situation) The situation at Carver raises serious concerns—and not just about what the school is doing. Some people are using the Carver controversy as an excuse to promote their own religious agenda in public schools while others are fanning the flames of prejudice by making wildly inaccurate claims about what is actually going on.

Keep on hating. It's nice to know that you're out there. So just like the Empty Suit said "Im going to go cling to my guns and religion now.

I don't see how it's my fault that you posted a comment out of context with out researching it.

I failed to see the out of context. If a Christian can't pray in a public school then neither can someone who is a Mormon, Jehovah's Witness, Jewish or Islamic. The fact you even attempt to justify the actions is further proof of your hatred if and bigotry toward Christians.

It's a typical reaction of those who are hopelessly bound to their superstition, no doubt. Things like research and facts mean absolutely nothing to people like that. Can you imagine what it must be like to live that way?

And what are we to make of the fact that you didn't actually read what it is you're so hot and bothered about? If you did, you'd see the article was specifically about integration processes without regard to what you're trying to inflame here... Look again, if you please.

Also, as a point of reference, Islamic is not a pronoun. The term you're looking for is Muslim. And on that topic, where did you ever get the idea that Atheists are any more comfortable with an extremist prone religion like Islam then we would be with christians? From this point of view, your faiths are quite interchangeable with regard to their respective goals and desires.
