Aviation's contribution to man-made Gullible Warming

If you knew anything about the global warming debate, you would not have made that statement.

Really...I don't know any aerospace engineers that are climatologists...

Blah Blah Blah, I forget that I am talking to the all-knowing spin-doctor. Global warming is summer and the Ice age is winter. If you think man is the problem thamn make us one climate altering man short, please!

Geez,

I'm very nearly offended. I thought I gave a pretty well reasoned response

Nobody is knocking your views, PB. Conservation is a good thing, but it shouldn't cost you...the taxpayer...more than the conventional. If buying those energy efficient bulbs help save the planet because tech says so helps you, then so be it. But those bulbs cost more and because of the mercury content you have to have a haz-mat crew remove them if they break. maybe they aren't environmental friendly!

Our parents didn't destroy the planet, nor did theirs, nor did theirs, etc., so why should I be left to the burden of saving a planet that ISN'T going extinct any time soon???

All I'm saying is that when something costs more than it's worth, somebody is making money at a PT Barnum side show! If man could change the climate we would have been extinct before the dinosaur!

Cost is a matter of supply and demand. Florescent lights have come down in price. I can buy a 6 pack for under $10.

How 6 billion (closer to 7 billion I think now) people cannot have an effect n the environment and the climate is beyond my comprehension. Hell, DFW creates it's own weather. We have taken down entire forests, the smog in LA is horrendous. re we the sole cause of GW? I seriously doubt it . Are we contributing to it? I think we are. To say that "it's not my fault so I am not going to fix it" is very short sighted. It's the reason we are in the mess we are in. It's the reason some whales are endangered, some forests are gone, the air is as polluted as it is, the oceans are polluted and coral reefs are in danger. Our forefathers said it was not their fault or just plane did not care. The farther along the damage gets the harder it will be to fix. If we do not start now, our kids will have to deal with the problem and it will be that much worse.

You say man does not affect the planet. I ask, what if you are wrong? There is no do over button. No reset. If we screw the pooch on this planet it is game over. I would prefer to error on the side of caution.

Go figure...

Obama Administration Proposes Text for New Global Warming Treaty That Would Impose Stricter Rules on U.S. Than on China or Saudi Arabia.

The U.S. State Department has provided the United Nations with proposed text for a new global warming treaty that would require the United States to comply with stricter carbon emissions standards than most other countries in the world--including, for example, China and Saudi Arabia--and that anticipates that U.S. taxpayers will provide foreign aid to support efforts to control carbon emissions in developing nations.

Because we taxpayers haven't been taxed enough it seems?

For every scientist crying "Global Warming", there is another calling it a load of horse manure ! All depends on who you want to believe. Personally, I don't think Gore and his gang would be making as much money claiming, "There is no Global Warming"!

While I believe we should do something in the interest of our environment, I also believe we should be looking in our own back yard, RIGHT NOW, as far as clean-coal technology, natural gas, drilling, Yes I said the "EVIL WORD , DRILLING" to get us to the point where we don't depend on them !
