AWA + USAir = Total Mistake

I will repeat myself US when it was US we were ranked in the top 6 in customer satisfaction and Hp has always been on the bottom.

Hp management takes over and look at where we are at, if you don't remember just go and look at the DOT files.

And remember the only other reason that this company is making money is because the amount of money the east
folks gave back, so you westies you should be thanking all those US folks that gave up so much for you and
get this, it's a pretty big one, all you westies took a pay raise at merger time, so you got a raise and we got
your stupid policies and inexperienced management.
Well I looked at the DOT reports like you recommended and from the research I found both HP and US did not have the best stats but guess what? US trailed HP in mishandled bags in 2003, 2004, and in the April 2005 stats (one month before the merger announcement). And you know what else phlagent? HP and US did not have good customer complaint stats either but US again trailed HP in 2003, 2004, and in April 2005. On time arrivals were a little closer with HP behind in 2004 while US was behind in 2003 and April 2005. So while I don't see the truth in your first statement, I will agree with you that this operation now needs some major improvement that will only be possible if the employees decide to work together despite the lack of help afforded by management. Just trying to stick to the facts as much as possible out here.

PS Where is my pay raise you said I got?

The truth is stranger than fiction. You hoist this on time stuff like you are comparing apples to apples. You are not. Let me ask you this; does AWA have acars? No, you don't. Just as SWA has no acars (funny...they are always ranked high for on time performance...how do they do it!). So your out and in times are lets say...fictional. Further, ever try and run an on time airline in the northeast? Good luck. The very fact that your skewed numbers are close to ours underscores your lack of performance.

Anyone in the "know" realizes that your post is a total fabrication. Given a level playing field, i.e. both airlines utilizing acars, and similar operating environment, the east is beating your pants off.

Ummm .AWA DOES use ACARS. Know before you post.

You can bury your head in the sand and pretend it didn't happen, but me, I point to facts

What a man! I'll tell you this; those involved in the accidents that you are using for your argument are/were far better people than you will ever be.

Are ya that desperate to try and get a leg up in these discussions? Ha Ha, what a limp dick.

After reading all of the posts under this thead I find it hard to believe that even with a combined contract, fixed seniority lists or whatever that we employees will EVER be able to be one group. This is pathetic, maybe even MORE pathetic than our management that has crushed this company.

Yeah, and we had ACARS before the merger too. I keep hearing about the west side not producing any profit. How can someone look since now the financials are combined from both sides? And for the USfare1 poster with the cute blonde in the avatar. AWA WAS profitable before the merger for consecutive quarters.

First, it is not disrespectful to talk about airline accidents. Second, I said nothing about the credibility of the pilots. Third, the facts and circumstances of the accidents are irrelevant to the context of the discussion. Lastly, while it's noble for you to defend your fellow pilots unfortunate fate, I think your passion is misplaced since I was only responding to another posters claim that US Airways was "top notch" airline. I pointed out FACTS that say otherwise, nothing more nothing less.

By your logic we should never speak of anything horrifying even if it makes a point. I have heard it all from east people, been called just about everything, been accused of being all kinds of things, all because an arbitrator makes a decision, which I had no control over. You tell me who needs some help. And you have the nerved to tell me I should be ashamed of myself? Right back at yaw.

With that said, I was not trying to offend anyones honor (deceased or not), and if I did I appologize.

Callsign_Cactus,

Normally, I regard your post as being simply childish. However this statement I find seriously offending. As those pilots whom lost their lives in these accidents were my pilots. I, in fact knew some of them personally. You should be ashamed of yourself for making such a statement. Especially in absense of the facts surrounding these tragic events.

To maintain the credibility of these airmen, as well as my company, lets take a look at some of the facts related to these "holes in the ground" you so callously advance:

Here is a rumor I've heard at least ten times over the past week from different sources. I don't think there is an ounce of truth to it, but sure seems to be spreading like wildfire. Since the pilot seniority award seems to be at an impasse, Parker is looking to sell the west operation to CAL and the east operation to UAL.

Don'tt know where you get your facts, sonny. AWA had ACARS before the merger and has it now.

Is that the best you can do? Wow, you REALLY are weak.

Even though AWA was on the opposite side of the country and was smaller, there were some similarities. We both had bankrupcies, many furloughed, and management teams that cared absolutely zilch about the airline. However AWA had one outstanding difference to deal with that USAir didn't. Southwest Airlines. They arrived in Phx in 1984, so for the past 23 out of 24 years AWA has had to literly fight for every dime. That's the problem AWA has always really had actually. Southwest can make money elsewhere throughout their system, that way their able to keep fares low in Phx. And since Phx was the only AWA hub for a long time, that's why its always been difficult to make a profit. But nevertheless they have succeeded. And they've done so while going through all the crap at the same time. That to me says alot about the airline. There great survivors, and the employees have alot to do with that testiment. Now USAir didn't have to deal with that threat until the early nineties, and look what happened. Southwest entered BWI and cleaned your clock! Within 10 years USAir went from flying over 90% of the traffic outta BWI to less than 5% and MetroJet went bye-bye. So please mr. "all my props", show a little respect for the little airline out west who put up and STILL IS putting up the good fight.

Good day.
