US Airways investment expected to prove costly to Retirement Systems of Alabama

Joe Namath is far from the only link between western Pennsylvania and Alabama.

And it looks like Retirement Systems wants to cut its losses.

"They must have some kind of number in mind, that if worst case comes to worst case, they have some kind of return," Canavesi said. "They must see that the cost structure does not work out for them to have US Airways return to higher profitability anytime soon."

Yes, I think I do.

They are going to remake us into a hybrid LCC utilizing the C11 bankruptcy courts.

Mwereplanes,

Thats probably the plan, but having a fiduciary responsibility, the company is probably just going through the motions.

BTW, excellant post in the Aug 22 thread. Your last comment is very apprapoe.

I don't think anyone in Beaver County need worry about the RSA or Dr. Bronner's future with them. If RSA loses every penny of its US Airways investment that represents less than 1% of the total value of the retirement fund's assets.

Considering the losses in my own portfolio over the past two years through the careful management of the geniuses at Merrill Lynch, I should only wish for a 1% loss in my asset total. 😛
