Despite some failures, at least some things are going good at FLL:

Launching in June:
-Seasonal Saturday service to Montego Bay
-Santo Domingo goes from A319 to 757-200
-Guatemala City goes from A319 to A320
-Kingston goes from A319 to A321.
 
SAD part about SDQ, is unless you have non-stop service from your city into FLL, you need to make several connections to get there. That is as long as your station has a 5am depature to CLT. When they moved the gateway from PHL, they told about half the Dominicans we cant get you to the Capital. What a GREAT marketing department we have.

It's a function of scheduling, not marketing. Other than that, I agree with you.
 
Is there still plans for a phase 2? I know, I know, phase 1 was pretty much chucked out the door anyways but.....

Good news about KIN! It looks like many days the flight has gone into extreme oversales!

You know, you're 100% right...some of the fares those Domincans were paying to get to SDQ were really high!

I think we are still keeping Saturday only service from PHL though?

Simple priorities, though. The local FLL-SDQ market is high-yielding and strong year-round. They are making a lot more money taking FLL-SDQ O&D passengers than they were taking DTW-PHL-SDQ passengers.

I've heard a few of those. FLL-MBJ starts in June. They can't do FLL-EZE or FLL-GRU because there are no available frequencies to either country for them to use.
 
Scheduling is a sub department of Marketing.

Scheduling is just a bunch of Knuckle heads. We could talk about that groups failures on another topic.

Sky high states: Kingston is packed. I can understand the reason for the A321 on the route. HOWEVER, passengers are confused, GET LOST, get upset by having to offload at Terminal two in FLL for immigrations and customs. Recheck their bags and head off to Terminal Three for all US connections. The logistics cant change, I understand that.....BUT PASSENGERS GET LOST BETWEEN these two areas/terminals. I have heard it countless times, with the comment, "never again".
SOLVE THE PROBLEM, Better explanation in the Attache magazine ON THE AIRPORT (FLL) MAP PAGE, would be helpful. (in SPANISH as well)
The Recheck counter "Agents" should be noticed to verbally let passengers know HOW TO GET FROM TERMINAL TWO TO TERMINAL THREE, CONCOURSE F. via connection bus.
 
Sky, I have also heard the same complaints. Too bad Management has done nothing to help this situation out. I guess they are still too concerned about PHL then anywhere else. Isnt Al in charge of ALL stations ?
 
The Thru traffic out of LGA to KIN is oustanding, averaging anywhere from 30 on a low day to as high as 60-65 ! Most of the customers are local KIN customers. The A321 in Jun will just add capacity and the fares are'nt cheap either.

Even worse are the passengers connecting to UP. If you don't put the passort info into the passengers pnr(and pasport only) then the passenger has to check in at the tkt ctr in FLL. Oh yeah and the connection is 25 mins. The stupid website has been selling this left and right.Worst of all , the next flt to NAS is 8 hrs later. :down:

The same is with all the UA codeshare flights, try getting 10 to 15 late runners from UA going to NAS or FPO at departure time only to find out the docs need to be entered because Apollo does'nt read or communicate with SABRE !

Well you close the doors 5 minutes early to ensure an ontime departure, of course! Too bad for them! Al wants these pax and their bags left behind....Try explaining the shortcomings of SABRE to a group of 15 out of breath vacation go-ers!
