Birth Control

That is a really tired argument. First off the government does not fund insurance aside from possibly the military. These are private corporations. There are medical needs for contraceptives. Women take them as a daily medicine. It's not just for birth control. Men use it indirectly by having sex with women.

Aside from that it is cheaper to fund contraceptives than not. The christaoin right claims they want to eliminate abortions yet they are not willing to do a damn thing to help eliminate abortions. The fact that they are against birth control, sex ed, family planning says that they are hypocrites who have no clue what century we live in and are incredibly misogynistic. Women have gained equal rights in our society. They can own property, vote, hold a job and a few other things. they have a right to have control over their sexuality.

Groups DO NOT have rights! Individuals have rights.

Roughly 50% of ALL of the money spent on health care comes from the Government. Either through direct payment or reimbursements to insurance carriers.

Ms Fluke is by all accounts a responsible woman and should be applauded for taking responsibility for her actions by spending her hard earned money on something she values.

In a way I don't blame her for showing up before Congress with her hand out for money. Hell Everyone else does, from Large Corporations to small business, to farmers to individuals. People to often focus only on the upside of Liberty. The downside is you have to make it on your own which means among other things that she continue to pay for her own Birth Control OR not have sex. Liberty is popular but it comes at a price.

What is the difference with any form of cancer, obesity, smoking, pregnancy you name it. All of these are covered by insurance. Have a kid and insurance will pay through the nose. The only reason this is an issue now and not when Bush was in office is because the religious right is trying to stay relevant. There was no out cry in 2000 when the EEOC said that not providing contraceptives was in violation of title VII of the civil rights act. The Fed Court agreed the following year. Insurance has to cover it. Just because they have religious issues with it does not get them a pass. Insurance companies do not get to pick and choose who or what they cover.

If they are private companies they should be able to do so. Insurance isn't a "Right" Shortly the SCOTUS will rule on the individual mandate which is what we're really talking about here is government intervention into private enterprise.

Additionally the 1st Amendment provides us "Freedom of Religion" not "Freedom from Religion". The country is increasingly annoyed at the level of government intervention into their daily lives which includes their personal faith.

DNC plant looking like its gone awry.

But what if she not only decided to attend the university anyway, but decided to attend specifically so she could fight this battle? Consider this passage from an early Washington Post story done on Fluke before she was permitted to testify:

Fluke came to Georgetown University interested in contraceptive coverage: She researched the Jesuit college’s health plans for students before enrolling, and found that birth control was not included. “I decided I was absolutely not willing to compromise the quality of my education in exchange for my health care,” says Fluke, who has spent the past three years lobbying the administration to change its policy on the issue. The issue got the university president’s office last spring, where Georgetown declined to change its policy.

Fluke says she would have used the hearing to talk about the students at Georgetown that don’t have birth control covered, and what that’s meant for them. “I wanted to be able to share their stories,” she says. “My testimony would have been about women who have been affected by their policy, who have medical needs and have suffered dire consequences.. . .The committee did not get to hear real stories I had to share, about actual women who have been dramatically affected by this policy.”

That’s right. It seems Fluke intentionally chose to go to Georgetown so she could agitate and sway them to cover contraceptives. She then went to a hearing as a representative of women who hadn‘t known about Georgetown’s policy until it was too late.

Poor preplanted victim

They do not have the right to violate the law which the fed said they were in 2001. Religious beliefs do not get to by pass the law. They provide insurance.they have to abide by the same laws everyone else does.

I think we might find out how happy women are with religion inserting them selves in their private lives. Perhaps women are tired of being treated like property by misogonistic men who think they know best. Pictures of issa's little hearing are worth a thousand words. Count on that picture being in DNC ads.

Why I'm SHOCKED! You mean to say that the pure as the driven snow Progressives used a "plant" to discredit? Nah! Couldn't be? Or could it?

Seems to me that you have posted requests for the littlest bit of information, some might say gossip, regarding either an incident or alleged incident that supposedly occurred on a transatlantic flight and now, after a pill popping radio demi-god made a fool of himself and had to apologize for his pre-teen tactics, this is the best link you and the fringe can come up with? Another conspiracy theory?

I'd hate to be in your head, with Aliens in Roswell, a 3rd shooter on the knoll and President born in Kenya.

By the way, as far as the Original Post, I'm glad that there is no crime in Phoenix and that the Sheriff can devote his time and efforts to determining whether a birth certificate is real or fake. I'm glad that there are no unsolved murders in Phoenix. There are no grieving mothers, fathers or other family members wondering who may have killed their loved one. God forbid that a Phoenix Police Agency is assigned to a Murder investigation when there is a fake President in the Oval Office, sworn by none other than Chief Justice John Roberts. If Justice Roberts did swear in a Kenyan, don't you think he would have checked it out himself? Can you see it now on his Wiki page, Chief Justice John Roberts, swore into office the first Kenyan as President of the United States of America. Probably would make him mad, don't ya think?

Looks like the exodus of advertizer's to "OXY PORKY PIG".........El BIMBO.... is Continuing.

He's heavily "entrenched" no doubt, BUT imagine if this issue, (Or others that he's sure to FU*K UP) were to result in that FAT BAST--ARD getting...... "Glen Beck(ed)" !!!!! 🙄

Guess it's a good thing no one ask me how I felt about paying for a 30 year old female college student's, who's dishing out $50,000 tuition fees a year and wanting me to pay for her contraceptives, so she can play hide the salami whenever she want's !

Would rather pay a one time fee, getting people like her, tubes tied to help weed out "The Entitlement Element" of our society !

REEeeeee-Hawwwwwww...................

You ought to talk to women who take contraceptives and ask them why they take it. You might learn something. Given that about 98% of women take them at one.point or.another during their life you can pretty much ask any women you see. Too issue.they are all sluts is quite ignorant and you may want to look around your family before. You say that.

Aside from that, female birthcontrol is far more.consistent, reliable and convienent to prevent conception. Given that it would help prevent unwanted pregnancies and abortions logic would dictate that contraception is a better option. Giventhat the church against contraception i can only conclude that they really.do not care about the fetus but are more concerned.with dogma and abortions controlling women's bodies as they have for centuries.

The Republicans are putting too much emphasis on the midterm's of 2010, just like they did in 1946. Interestingly, instead of the Democrats splintering in '48, allowing Truman to run as a moderate that would keep the New Deal intake, the Republicans nominated a bland, boring moderate (Dewey), over the objections of the Isolationists, Taft supports.

Fast forward to 2012 and it's the Republicans that appear to be splintering. I find it difficult to believe that the conservative, Moral Majority hard core voters are going to turn out in numbers and vote for a Mormon who has flipped flopped on many of their core beliefs. On the other hand, do you nominate a candidate like Santorum and risk the so many voters on specific issue's such as contraception, which as you pointed out is used by 98% of the population?

Bush, Christie, Daniels are already looking towards 2016.
