Bloomberg leave the GOP

I don't think Bloomberg has what it takes. The fact that he has switched allegiances so often I feel is already a draw back.

While most politicians are a bit opportunistic Bloomberg takes it to a whole new level. If he thought becoming a Druid would help him win an election he would be performing human sacrifices on the steps of city hall.

Had McCain in his pre-waffle suck up the right wing nut jobs, everything is hunky dorry in Iraq with a battalion guarding him days gone independent and stuck to his guns, I think he might have been able to pull it off. At the very least he would have really shaken up the landscape.

My belief back in 2000 was the GOP made a mistake by not nominating McCain for President. At the very least there would not have been that mess down in Florida.

If NAMBLA wants to have a picnic, start up the BBQ's.

Best leave the kids at home.

Freedom of speech is OK with me..."DUDE", thats why I'll see Michael Moore's newest Docu. , about the wonderful condition of the health care system(NOT), here in the good ol' usa.

Now I hope you realize that guys like Michael Moore have a tendency to either tell only part of the story or leave out certain facts altogether. Just as guys like Rush Limbaugh do. There's an interesting article written by Anthony DePalma in the May 27, 2007 issue of the New York Times. Pretty good read.

It seems that the "system" started to really go downhill after 1/20/2001.

I have to agree with Garfield and say that this is really getting old. Do you have any facts to back this up? For some reason I think you said it out of pure emotion.

Here's something that has gone up in the past twenty years. The levels of obesity in the United States. Are you going to try and blame Bush for that as well? If you do you will have to blame Bill Clinton as well.

Since you brought up Mr. Moore’s new movie and I bought up the subject of obesity here's what I would like you to do. When you go see the movie please give us a summary of it. What I'm curious about at any point in the movie does he bring up the fact that in 2003 obesity related illnesses cost $75 billion dollars. Along with that if Americans were to loose weight and the amount of money spent was cut in half you could insure all those who are uninsured. Wonder if Michael Moore looks into the camera and says "Well people while it might be easy for me to go after insurance companies and the government you have to do your share as well." For some reason I don't think that will happen. Two reasons being he’s obese himself and it’s more fun to go after faceless institutions. I might be wrong and if I am I'll be the first to admit it.

Aha...you sort of hit on something here....sacrifice. Sacrifice means giving up something...let's say fries and burgers. But we are not a nation that has been willing to make a sacrifice for much of anything. Gas prices too high? It's the 'greedy oil companies'...not the fact that our daily commuter is an H2. War in Iraq? Our leader asks us to sacrifice by "going shopping".

Obesity is a bigger (no pun intended) issue in this country than smoking, but you won't see super high taxes on your Big Mac and fries like you do on a pack of cigarettes, because far too many Americans actually EAT the Big Mac and fries (over 2 billion sold)...and making them pay so much more would be "un-American".

No...Canadians are flocking down there because Cuba is actually a pretty decent vacation destination.

Actually they are flocking to the Good Ole USA for timely care...

Do you have any knowledge of Cuban medicine? I lived across the street from a doctor who fled Cuba and came to the US. Because of his "inferior" medical training, he had to go thru it all again here.

So then you admit Cubas medical training is inferior?

As it turned out, HE ended up teaching his professors some things.

Is that a fact? what lessons did he give his inferior counterparts here in America?

Instruction on VooDoo?...

And... as I mentioned, my neighbor who is a neuroscienist (Phd...but what's a degree...not nearly as impressive as a youtube video)was rather impressed with their knowledge. That's my first hand knowledge of the subject, limited though it may be...what's your first hand knowledge again??

eyewitness reports from some 9/11 victims who were used by a left wing socialist loving tub of lard commie trying to make a quick buck off a movie.

BTW... you sure seem to live around alot of 'Doctors' must be one of those middle america neighborhoods huh? 😉

Sorry local...neither by Cuban doctor or neuroscientist neighbors were in the film.

My doctor neighbor wasn't really into voodoo...Catholicism is what he practiced and why he left Cuba. Actually he taught them some issues in cardiac care.

Again...while my firsthand knowledge is limited, you aren't citing anything you know firsthand. If fact, you seemed to avoid finding ANYTHING to say.

Can tell you never worked at USAIR.....

Again...what's YOUR firsthand knowledge of Cuban medicine?? I admit that mine is quite limited, but I think it's 200% more than yours.

Well that and $1.50 cents will get you a cup of java....

The nation as a whole wasn't asked to sacrifice in the name of paying more for an airline ticket...the nation as a whole WAS instructed to do their patriotic duty...and shop....the nation as a whole loves their 13 mpg SUV's and cannot understand why big oil gets away with charging (gasp) $3 for a gallon of gas.

Odd how it's easy to say "voodoo" when you know nothing, but dismiss the firsthand accounts of someone holding an opinion that flies in the face of your thoughts.

It probably won't occur to anyone who sees Sicko that they themselves might be a part of the problem. Instead they will leave the theatre mad as hell at the governement and insurance companies. Some might even write their congressmen.

Are there people who fall through the cracks under the current system, of course there are. However there are also a lot of people who are bleeding the system dry due to their own bad habits. Funny thing is if you tell these people they have to change their ways some will become indignant. They will rant and rave about how "You have no right to tell me how to live my life, blah, blah, blah".

Is that any different than folks who are tired of spending $100 a week to fill up their Suburban (which they and their briefcase are the sole occupant of for at least 5 of those 7 days) and will not acknowledge that they themselves played a very large part in $3+ per gallon gas? And when you point out that the SUV they are driving might be a problem, you are labeled as a 'tree hugger' or 'eco-nazi' and hear the line "I have the right to drive what I choose"...inevitably followed by the "what would your tin box look like in a head-on with a Mack truck"....to the latter, I'm not sure...I think my tin box might manuever out of the way without rolling over and actually AVOID the head-on with the Mack.

Funny you say that....French Fries are the Cigarettes of our time......I am a recovering addict as a matter of fact. Stopped eating fast food about 3 weeks ago and I have lost about ten pounds. Next on the list is Soda......

I say the only way you can stop the bindge though is through education.......Paying extra taxes will just P*ss people off. It won't stop them from buying the meals though. They should be required to hand out the documentry "SuperSize Me" with a large size meal. That may help.

But bubbleboy....do you know that without taxes, a $4 pack of cigarettes would cost under 50 cents? But a heckuva lot of American's still smoke...and trust me...they ARE pissed off about it. But...supposedly those taxes go to pay for "smoking related illness" (they don't), so therefore the tax is justified. If it "works so well" for smoking...why wouldn't it work so well for fast food? Because it would make people sacrifice to eat burgers and fries...and it would piss them off that they would have to sacrifice to do what they wanted....even though it costs all of us in the end.

Okay...so what I've seen with my own eyes and heard from those who were there count for nothing. Run the youtube video and picture of the witch doctor. Sometimes it's hard to admit that as nasty and evil and backwards as a country is, they actually DO sometimes know more, or at least as much, as we do.
