Boeing IAM members say NO!

After reading the rest of the posts on this thread, lemme just clarify some things-and why we voted NO.
This was an 8(EIGHT yr deal)starting in 2016(but many concessions starting immed).
*we were blindsided. We had no idea our "representation" was hatching this deal up w the Co-which by the way, T Wroblewski ENDORSED initially, before he almost got his clothes ripped off him at union hall meeting from enraged members.
*LOU for 737MAX work for Renton was going to be null & void upon agreement of this POS sandwich. Another slap in our face.
*pension plan terminated in 2016. serviced by an outside firm. Old timers were livid. I, on the other hand, realize how fortunate I am to be in a pension plan(chief reason I'm up here putting up w all the BS living in ubber liberal SEA area). I figured they'd get the pension in 2016 nego, but I fig'd all new hires go to 401k. Either way, my pension's will most likely be gone in 2016. Nice while it lasted :-/
* 1% (ONE! percent raises every OTHER year)-remember, we're nailed to this deal 'til 2024. for like 3-4 raises.
* dramatically raising our health care prem & deductables-like every year. It was BS.
*language was ridiculous in that deal. we basically had very little binding language. Co could literally do whatever they wanted.
*new hires take like 16 yrs to top out. Boeing apparently isn't interested in anyone sticking around anymore.

I've forgotten a lot of crap-because that's exactly what it was CRAP. I fully realize(having come from the real world)that Boeing WA emp have had it pretty damn good. And honestly, most of the people up here understand Boeing's up against a fierce competitor, and were willing to give in some area. But the total pkg that the Co came at us with, you'd think they were on the brink filing Ch11-not a Co making record profits, stock price the highest I've seen in a long time.
They didn't have to come after us as aggressive as they did. IMO....

Great so you have basically confirmed, that like in the airlines/IAM transportation dept, the IAM is full of corporate sellouts in aerospace too? Most interested in maintaining dues payers than doing right by the membership?

Another brilliant idea from you. Do you actually know how it works?

I seriously hope you're in a back shop. The thought of you touching live A/C with our customers on it is just too much to bear...
Yes Kev, I know exactly how it works, make it where it's cheaper for company's to pay a penalty to BaRack-O-Care, than to cover their employees. Lie to the public......."If you like your healthcare, you can keep your healthcare" and push for everyone to get on board with the "Single payer system" !
Anything else I can explain to you?
BTW, have a couple of BaRack supporters that I work with and I'll tell you the same thing I told them.
BaRack's hurting now, one of the lowest ratings as the POTUS in history. You and I'm sure the majority of union members, in this country that voted for him, need to come to his aid and tell your current company you want to opt out of your company sponsored healthcare plan and sign up at Healthcare.gov ! You wanted it, you got it !

Not based on what you've posted, you don't...

We should be so lucky; it'd be a helluva lot better than what we're seeing right now.

...tell your current company you want to opt out of your company sponsored healthcare plan
I opted out awhile ago. I've already saved OUR employer 1000's of dollars in company borne insurance costs. That's money that's in profit sharing pool for V-day. Can you claim the same?

You're welcome.

The IAM at Boeing is in the Aerospace Division,, don't let the facts get in your way. The cba sucked and the workers used their democratic right to turn it down. Too hard to comprend.

Yep and as I asked above, is the Aerospace department full of corporate sell outs like the Transportation Dept? The company will succeed one way or another, the Fighting Machinists have no leverage in this. No one is indispensable.

“One of the main things is the international negotiated it behind the local’s (and its members backs), … did a lousy job in selling it and tried to shove it down their throats,” one labor insider told the Washington Free Beacon. “It was an F-You vote against the union as much as it was against the company.”
Alder said that the company does not plan on returning to the negotiating table for at least two years.
“We have no plans to re-engage the union on contract talks until 2016,” he said.

Boeing will move portions of its airplane construction out of Washington after a local union rejected a contract offer that would have saved the company $8 billion.

Boeing shouldn't have been so forthcoming and said the move was for other reasons...
You're not actually endorsing the idea of lying are you?

Honestly, I think Boeing being so "forthcoming" was a refreshing change. Maybe if company's and labor were more direct with each other, there'd be less time wasted with "theater," and more time spent getting down to business?

Just a thought...

So basically the IAM negotiators got owned in negotiations and are running away with their tails between their legs. Really speaks to the value of IAM representation. Again why did the international advocate they ratify a deal filled with concessions?

Go steal more money, you werent in the room, you arent a Boeing employee nor an IAM member.

How fast you forget Boeing was found guilty in their dealings with the IAM before by the NLRB.

Go commit more fraud and contribute to the deaths of people.
I take great joy knowing Boeing is battling the IAM hard and is taking Machinsts jobs and moving them to right to work states.
