After reading the rest of the posts on this thread, lemme just clarify some things-and why we voted NO.
This was an 8(EIGHT yr deal)starting in 2016(but many concessions starting immed).
*we were blindsided. We had no idea our "representation" was hatching this deal up w the Co-which by the way, T Wroblewski ENDORSED initially, before he almost got his clothes ripped off him at union hall meeting from enraged members.
*LOU for 737MAX work for Renton was going to be null & void upon agreement of this POS sandwich. Another slap in our face.
*pension plan terminated in 2016. serviced by an outside firm. Old timers were livid. I, on the other hand, realize how fortunate I am to be in a pension plan(chief reason I'm up here putting up w all the BS living in ubber liberal SEA area). I figured they'd get the pension in 2016 nego, but I fig'd all new hires go to 401k. Either way, my pension's will most likely be gone in 2016. Nice while it lasted :-/
* 1% (ONE! percent raises every OTHER year)-remember, we're nailed to this deal 'til 2024. for like 3-4 raises.
* dramatically raising our health care prem & deductables-like every year. It was BS.
*language was ridiculous in that deal. we basically had very little binding language. Co could literally do whatever they wanted.
*new hires take like 16 yrs to top out. Boeing apparently isn't interested in anyone sticking around anymore.
I've forgotten a lot of crap-because that's exactly what it was CRAP. I fully realize(having come from the real world)that Boeing WA emp have had it pretty damn good. And honestly, most of the people up here understand Boeing's up against a fierce competitor, and were willing to give in some area. But the total pkg that the Co came at us with, you'd think they were on the brink filing Ch11-not a Co making record profits, stock price the highest I've seen in a long time.
They didn't have to come after us as aggressive as they did. IMO....
