But I would suggest, to Art and Bob, that actions speak louder than words.
No, I don't expect to see either on the turd brown bus. KC and I would save you guys a seat, but you've made it clear you can't deal with the horror of an unassigned seat. That's okay.
But the time has arrived for you to take your money and business elsewhere.
If not now, at what point is the "final straw"?
You and FFOCUS have been lied to, used as pawns, and I do mean used.
The employees have been lied to. The employees have seen their wages eviscerated. The goal was not, is not, has never been about saving this airline. The goal has been to slash the wages so they can merge it or sell it but there was never any desire on their (mgmts) part to save it.
My gut feeling is that continuing to send the crowd at CCY your money only serves to encourage them. You continue under the guise of trying to do something for the good employees. That briefs well, and actually is a noble intent, but the bottom line is your money is getting held up somewhere between the time you spend it and the time the employees draw their meager paycheck.
The money is flowing into the pockets of no good management.
Not finding another carrier NOW is simply rewarding them.

New contracts for the company's top 25 executives, at a cost of up to $18 million. Some of the details of the payments would actually be less generous than their current employment contracts allow. For instance, the company's nine executive and senior vice presidents -- who earn up to $317,000 a year -- would take only twice their annual salary in severance, as opposed to triple their annual salaries now guaranteed under their contracts.
SpinDoc replies:
700: Agreed that now is not such a good time
to hand out bonuses to VP level management;
however, how would you propose the company
retain the management team that knows
US processes best, and need to remain until
a merger is fully completed?
I fully agree that the management in place
right now has brought the company to where
it is through incompetent and inept decision
making. But the fact remans, the operation
must continue and the day to day needs of
US Airways have to to continue to be
met until it is absorbed into AWA.
I don't like it any more than any of the
union rank and file. My point was that
the MAIN reason they set aside the
$55 million (the largest percentage of
that) is to provide severance to lower
level management who will also be on the
street when AWA takes over.
The unions negotiated their own terms
and severance deals. So don't get upset
when low level management also has the
opportunity to receive severance.

This is NOT about Class envy! It is NOT about organized Labor! What it is about is Character, Honesty, Values, Morality & Ethics or in this case the lack thereof.
If you can't see that a 55 MILLION Dollar payout to the parties that brought US to the point where it is today for what it is, I would suggest you grunt, grab your women by the hair and drag her back to the cave. You don't "Get it" and you never will.
The mere fact that US Airways Management would even attempt this type of money grab is indicative of how low modern business has sunk when it comes to having even the slightest notion of what is right and wrong.
Al Crellin presides over the Operations side of the business. Did he even bother to phone in when the Christmas meltdown was in progress? What about those under him in CCY? Where were they? Did any of them show up at minimum to lend moral support to the beleagured workers who hung in and did all that could be expected and more? But now they have their hand out for money!
Not only were these people referenced above not available during times of crisis, When called into account they hid and blamed hourly workers for their failure to plan. Their reaction would be like Teddy Roosevelt failing in his assault on San Juan Hill and blaming the union workers at the gun factory! Total CRAP!
I could fill a server on this topic. But I won't! Bottom Line?
CHARACTER COUNTS!
HONESTY COUNTS!
VALUES COUNT!
ETHICS COUNT!
MORALS COUNT!
When you evaluate the performance of Senior Staff at US Airways they not only do not deserve a bonus or severance packages, they IMO, OWE US AIRWAYS a refund on the monies they have been paid already.
As for those who support the notion that retentions bonuses are normal in certain businesses prior and during mergers I will say this. You're right, but usually they are paid for actual PERFORMANCE not warming a seat behind a desk.
DOT Report + Double Digit PAWOB's + DOT stats = FAILURE!!!
FAILURE = NO BUCKS FOR YOU BUNKIE!
OK USA320 I Double Dog no make that TRIPLE DOG DARE YOU to come on this thread and debate this issue. How does it feel to know that the dollars that you gave up in compensation go to the people ultimately responsible for the decline of US Airways? Tell us? I really want to hear how YOU feel?

MarkMyWords, The "low level managers" that we again are talking about will not be tossed to the curb with nothing..MarkMyWords said:Again, we are talking about low level managers that may not be retained in a merger due to duplication of duties. Those folks should be afforded the same severence opportunities as other employees that left voluntarily or were forced out. Would you prefer that they just be tossed to the curb with nothing?
