Illinois does not consistently rank in the top five when it comes to crime nor does it have the highest murder rate. That title belongs to Louisiana. As far as schools go the facts point out rather clearly that Illinois schools are better than Louisiana schools. Poverty rate is much higher too. I'll give you roads, taxes and weather. Which is probably little consolation if you dirt poor and have to send your kids to a crappy school. Weather, I don't see how that relevant.
Who do think has more power to affect policy in a state? A two term governor or a state senator?
