Bush's fault......

Sean Conery said he was done at one point as well and then came "never say never again". I thought I heard that some sports athlete (I don't follow sports) has come out of retirement several times. When Cheney passes away at that point it is done, not before then.

Gore is a pompous ass.

That Sir is an insult to pompous asses everywhere!!

Hypocrite comes to mind as a far more accurate one word description. To me, Al Gore is the poster child for failed Liberal Do Gooder policies. Couple that with his unbridled arrogance and you have...... well Al Gore, Tom Daschle, Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer and the rest of the Wage Confiscators

My deep apologies to all the pompous asses of the world.

Al's in the same class as david axlerod if you ask me......................

Mitt Romney until they can come up with someone else.

even though I like Sarah, the bottom line she resigned during her term and realistically that is simply not going
to sit well with a lot of people nor will they take her seriously.

Mr Romney certainly has the financial/business sense for the job, and he doesn't appear to be a person who's going to stuff his religion down anyone's throat.
However, he's in the wrong party to be running as a Mormon, whereas if he were running as a "D" it wouldn't even be an issue. Like it or not, the GOP allows itself to be controlled in large part by Evangelical Southern Baptists.

Well if Obama can get away with running as a Christian..........................

"Let's not play games," he said. "What I was suggesting -- you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith. And you're absolutely right that that has not come."

Mr. Stephanopoulos interrupted with, "Christian faith."

I mean Christian.........

Personally, I hope he is Musslim, Hindu, Shinto or any other religion other than christian. I would be laughing my butt off. The christian right would just be up in arms and all in a lather about it.

Who the hell care what religion the POTUS is. The first person who runs as an atheist will get my vote. I would rather someone who is guided by a moral code of ethics rather than same fantasy based dogma serve as POTUS anyway.

Does it echo in that space between your ears?

Only when I have to see and listen to Nobama, reading from his teleprompter day, after day, after day, after day...................................

How does an atheist run for president of a country who's foundation was built on the belief of God ?

Unless he's another Constitution breaker , in which case he should be impeached, just like Nobama and his posse should, for forcing Americans to buy health insurance !

You are not seriously arguing that in order to be POTUS that one has to believe in some sort of deity are you? First off I defy you to find that requirement anywhere in the COTUS. So far as I have been able to determine you have to be a naturalize citizen and over the age of 35. After that, you can believe in sugar plum fairies and martians.

But liets run with your little theory for a moment. Would the god that this POTUS have to believe in be the one that the early Presidents believed in that allowed them to justify owning another human being as property and not consider them a full human? Or would it be the god that allowed us to think that burning someone at the stake for being a witch was a good idea? How about the god that was used to justify running over the ME to save those sorry heathens from them self? Or the god that was used to justify settlers going around slaughtering the natives of this country because they did not believe in you god but various gods of their own? Or how about the god that alows a sitting speaker to go after a sitting POTUS for getting a hummer in the Oval while he him self is bagging his secretary and divorced his wife on her death bed?

Please. There is no requirement that a POTUS believe in any god or that he/she cannot believe in multiply gods. Given that the COTUS does not even mention god, there is no indication that the foundations of this nation were based on anything more than common sense and compromise. Even the DOI uses the term "creator" instead of god. I as well as others view that as an intentional step of not involving religion in state affairs.

So yes, I hope Obama is something other than christian but I honestly could not care less what, if anything god he believes in because it is none of our business and it has nothing to do with the job a POTUS does. The only reason I want him to be something else is because it would piss people like you off and that is entertaining for me.

NOt sure on that, but the point of the posts is that most evangelical Christians fail to recognize that Muslim, Hindu, Shinto, Morman, Catholic, and Jews all believe in God. But a BIG part of the GOP believes that their candidate must believe in JESUS. And "Christ" isn't mentioned in the constitution, neither is God. Although "God" and "Creator" IS mentioned in the declaration of Independence, there is no mention of Christ or Jesus. So I'm confused about the "Christian nation" thing.
