this is one way to thin the heard...I need to lose some myself...but I must say I have no problem with J/S belts BUT some of the 75 'A' belts are x-tra small...I think they have the wrong size on some, not all but some ...the company should make sure all belts are the same on all a/c or I smell a BIG no pun intended lawsuiteit's about time. it's getting rediculous. lose some weight.
This has been the policy for years, it just wasn't enforced.Extensions are out and being placed on unpaid leave is in.
CBS and HUB have details.

IMHO, if you can't fit into a size 2 zip-up dress, you should be put on leave until you can.
A 737??? I think a pot belly pig could fit in the harness of a 737. The jumpseat might not be wide enough but the harness is massive! This has been the policy for years, it just wasn't enforced.
Neither the company nor the union really wanted to deal with it.
I know of an incident last year in CLT where a f/a was passed "A" and the girl who passed the position to her © said she was going to use an extension on the J/S.
The A f/a said "you can't, it changes the integrity of the J/S and FAA won't allow it".
It turned into a huge situation that no one wanted to deal with. A supervisor was called down, the Union was called but ultimately the f/a was removed.
this was a 737.
The "a" f/a got a lot of flack for her stance, which personally I think was wrong (the flack, that is).
Take it up w/ the company; the union, the FAA, even Jenny Craig- but don't take it out on a fellow f/a.
903, I read (can't remember where... me and my feeble (sp? haha) mind... fitting into the jumpseat is no longer required before Recurrent, nor is that stupid Passport to Recurrent.
