What station has the best RON Cabin Service. Please post your thoughts and comments......... 😛h34r:

As a general rule, I think STL does an excellent job on RONs. Though, I don't think anyone could ever beat Monterrey, Mexico. I used to say that every a/c should be sent to Monterrey at least once a month for a thorough cleaning. The next day the a/c would be as spotless as you can make a 30-yr. old S80.

Another fine excuse to outsource!

And, cabin service is just asking for their work to outsourced when we get on an RON a/c in the morning and there is trash on the floor and in the seatback pockets and the blankets haven't been folded, they've been wadded up and thrown into the overhead bins. And, I'm talking at AA hub airports.

Your right about the RON planes being trashed, that's because here at DFW overnite cabin has been outsourced for about 3 years now. DFW is already on it's third vendor, and it's still not getting the job done.

It seems the overnite vendor employees are running up AA's phone bill at DFW, to the tune of $400,000 over a 3 month period. Over 7,000 oversea's calls were made from AA jetbridges, gates, breakrooms, etc. These calls were made to places such as the Ivory Coast, Kenya, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and all over south and central america and mexico.

How the heck are they making these phone calls? All long distance calls are protected by secret codes..I've heard of actual AA employees getting caught doing it but not contract..Good lord!

We need our own people back at midnite cabin..these outsourced planes are a total disgrace!

I've been on many an RON aircraft where the supervisor comes out, tells the crew chief to finish up ASAP and get to the next aircraft.

It's not just a matter of cabin service not wanting to do a thorough job, it's a matter of the company wanting to do more work with less people.

Exactly. We got chased off an inbound from FLL on Monday after seven minutes. How clean do you think that '80 was?

The captain wanted us to stay up and finish the job, but the passenger service CSM and our crew chief decided a filthy airplane was alright, as long as it departed on time..

Well the company and the TWU let the ball drop here also.
The IAM at TWA would never allow another contractor anywhere on the field, much less negociated it into our contract. Yet, a recent memo from our recently suspended Local president warns it's TWU members to be vigilant and report to his office any sightings of cabin work being done by F/A and cockpit.

The result is a half-a$$ attempt to clean a RON with underpaid contract employees. Aside from the telephone abuses already noted, a recent raid by AA corporate security netted a well organized group of contractors stealing whatever wasn't nailed down on the A/C and or the terminal areas.

*Quite frankly I don't see how anybody can work for less that $ 8.00 in NYC, when you factor in the taxes, transportation, meals, medical and the cost of living in the big apple, that $8 becomes $ 4. So; I been told that the turnover ratio is almost half for these poor ba$tards.
Not to mention a two hour commute daily.

Contractors are here to stay, better get used to it guys and gals. Every airline except for Southwest is under enormous pressure to cutback on labor, so lookout everbody, ( even Jetblue is singing the Blues )

If President Bush's guest worker program ever gets approval from Congress. Every job ( including the cockpit could be outsourced ). That's right that guy raking your leaves in the back yard, has a son that's an unemployed pilot back home ready to take your job for less pay too.

The only loyalty is to the passenger, and the passenger's only loyalty is to his/her pocketbook.

Better get your Congressman's number on speed dial. 😀 . That's if you can get him on the line, he may be too busy answering complaints from his constituents about the rising cost of airfares.

Southwest outsources their RON cleaners to the same outfit AA does here.

I've heard variations on that rumor for years.

If it's happening to any degree, it is because they've stolen a long distance access code, or the phone was improperly set up by the local phone comany. Anyone who has ever worked ticket lift or the ATO will tell you that an access code to dial outside of the local area code(s), with perhaps the exception of places in Res where they perform outbound calling.

LGA Cabin Service is getting pulled off too. Now NY f/a's are walking off until the plane is cleaned. They just stand on the jetbridge until the plane looks like it should, CLEAN!
