Nowhere in the "Terms" do I see the rule, "Thou shalt not speak out against a moderator" However, I assume that since NYCBusdriver basically called you a "Barney Fife", that violates the rule against doing damage to a person's reputation? Would that be correct? I am in not advocating bashing moderators, just simply want clarification on the rules here since it seems many people here are allowed to bash each other at will with much worse language. I am sure NYCBusdriver could have found a better way to get his point across if he thought you were being heavy handed with your authority. However, I believe he should have been given a stern warning prior to being booted considering the above "Terms" and the lack of punishment for seemingly much worse bashing that has taken place in other threads.

Sincerely,

Put it on the water cooler thread.

By the way, whatever happened to the Q&A with Dougwieser that was suppose to have happend last year?

Moderators here leave a lot to be desired. You can set up a board like this for $10 or $20 a month. They should be glad we keep comming back. I wonder how long this will remain here before they move it.

I agree with USCrew. It's tough to moderate a board like this where emotions often run very high. I know I have created extra work for them at times. I think they do a pretty good job letting people express themselves freely, without letting things get too far out of control.

If you have a beef with a moderator decision, at least have the respect of contacting them privately to get an explanation instead of criticizing them publicly.

This issue is not open for a debate. Bashing moderators is unacceptable on ANY board. Although I am not the one who closed the beach thread, I support my colleague's decision to do so for whatever reason. For the record, if you disagree with a decision of a moderator you are free to PM the moderator and ask for a reason or for reconsideration. To publicly question and ridicule moderators will not be tolerated. It's just general board etiquette on ANY board.

That said, this is still one of the most liberal boards out there--some of you would have been banned or otherwise disciplined long ago on some of the other boards.

This case is closed. If you have anything to say, send a PM.

And thank you to those who offered support. We're only trying to maintain some form of decorum around here.
