Does anyone know the details/timeline on the new runway going into CLT or when they are expanding E concourse?

As for "E", one side is in the midst of construction. The other side is supposed to be started in June.
The concourse if VERY crowded. Single escalator into and out of E. For the volume of passengers, this is not enough and if one breaks (or one of the moving sidewalks) then it makes it difficult for our elderly passengers.
The last I checked minimum legal connecting time in CLT domestic to domestic was 25 minutes. Not enough time to get from E26 (a far outside gate) to B10.
The terminal is fast outgrowing its confines. I'm glad they are taking action now BUT hope that it's not just a band-aid approach.
We need more eateries in the "D" and "E" concourses too.
And a Starbucks in "E" while we're at it!

There is the Starbucks in D at the junction of the escalators down to E. IIRC, Coach's son works there.

Yes, that's the one those of us who work on "that" end of the airport go to now. Didn't know about Coach's son though!
With 26+ gates in the "E" concourse, we need our own.

Right now he is just working am Sa &Su. He plays baseball & this is his senior year (H/S) He should go back to pm once baseball season ends.

The clearing and grubbing has started on the west side of the field. The next phase will be the bid request for grading and dirt work. Final gate count stands at 47 when E is complete..
