Boeing will have to counter some way. I'm aware of Chinese mfd Boeing parts, but this is a leg up on Boeing. Also why I'd bet my next check the 737 repl will not be built in WA.

I hope I'm wrong. That would devastate the Puget Sound area.

The ex-TWA MD 80 are a newer version. I believe that some are already retired? But the whole fleet is on its way out.

Never heard of ANY MD80s built in China!
Those planes' hey-day was long before any aircraft prod was being mfd in China-I do believe.

They cannot be gone soon enough for me,they are giving the schedule a beating daily.They are quite different from our 80's
not many parts are the same.....examples APU's ,FMC's, radio alt,radar,tcas,overhead bins ,light ballasts,lavs,seats the list goes on....They are just a pain in the arse...It would have been better to order new aircraft..I'm on the OTS crew they sit for day's broken...Just walked past one for the last three days on the way to punch out.

I think some wings were built there.I have inspected a few vans RV kits from china(home built).The first ones were of not so good quailty.THe later ones were much improved. The first ones were sent back due to metal not meeting specs...Thickness and grade wrong heat treating etc.
