Looks like UA is going to have the Chicoms involved with their MX program now. Report I saw was that out of 2500 tech's, only 5 have FAA lic's. Killer food, toys, etc. from that country, one has to wonder. It shouldn't affect the narrow bodys as they don't have the range to make it without a bunch of island hopping, but the big birds can make it, some maybe with one stop.

Not to turn this in to a political post, but do the politicians doing the loudest talking about "The War on Terror" really beleive what they say? Stay with me here, The FAA can't monitior the overhaul facilities airlines use in this country and thats a fact, they don't know who works in them or what work is even being performed at most of them. Since Sept 11, 2001 practically all airlines in an attempt to cut cost started outsourcing around 50 percent of their maintenance or more yet monitoring of the overhaul facilities by the FAA hasn't increased, they are relying on the airlines to do that, now ask yourself if the FAA can't monitor the overhaul facilities in this country how in the world are they gonna do it in China or any other foreign country for that matter! We all saw the damage done by terrorists who hijacked airplanes, I don't think it is a stretch to beleive that if our airliners are being maintained in foreign countries that could allow easy access to terrorists who may go to work there and possibly sabotage US airliners. President Bush maintains that keeping us safe is his highest priority, but by allowing foreign repair stations to perform critical aircraft maintenance really safe for America, I have my doubts. The Chinese didn't follow the rules when it came to producing food, toys, and many other products AMERICAN companies have them produce, the maintenance they perform on our airlines won't be any different. It all boils down to corporate greed, until the American Worker stands up and demand the outsourcing that is destroying America stop and could potentially kill us we have no one to blame but ourselves. Hold your elected officials accountable, if your not mad your not paying attention!!
