We received U.S. DOT approval today for our codeshare program with SQ. (Singapore Airlines)

Preliminary codeshare phases include:

- US* code on SQ flights between SIN and LAX, SFO (via HKG), AMS, MAN, ZRH, BWN, JKT, DPS

- SQ* code on US flights between LAX/SFO and PHX/LAS

This currently does not include US Airways Express flights operated by Mesa, although we are working on this addition.

Connecting from SQ to US? What a rude awakening those passengers will be in for! Talk about going from the Couture to the Butcher Shop.

It's hard to fathom Singapore Airlines and US Airways even being uttered in the same sentence. I've flown many of our Star Partners- United, Lufthansa, BMI (when they were British Midland), LOT, Singapore and ANA. I wonder if anyone in Tempe could even name more than two, much less have flown on any of them. I'd guess most of them have never even left the country.

Didn't Aer Lingus get booted from oneworld for trying to be an international RyanAir? Now they are left a national carrier with a shite product and no alliance. Ooops!

Now we're waiting on the status of the codeshare with LX... It will be interesting to see how much longer it will take until this one gets set in stone.

US flyers are the real winners in this (dysfunctional?) marriage. I hope SQ has beefed up their Customer Relations department to handle the additional complaints!

I just wonder if Tempe will "take credit" for flights on SQ metal sold as US tickets???

To celebrate this auspicious occassion, US Airways ceo Doug Weiser announced that All US Airways narrowbody aircraft would carry the words MEGA NOT and widebody equipment would carry the words SUPER MEGA NOT to solidify the new relationship with Singapore Airlines. This will serve to keep connecting passengers in check when boarding their US Airways flight. At the press conference, Mr. Weiser pointed to a world map and asked President Scooter Kirby to point out Singapore and asked "isn't that where we fought a war in the 60's?"

President Kirby nodded his approval and mentioned that it was "just a hop, skip and a jump from our next stop China"

Singapore Airlines CEO ran for the tables where the code share documents had just been signed and attempted to shred them.

  TOO GD Funny! Are you sure the Singaporean Reps weren't drugged and flogged to get them TO SIGN in the first place. (This so called partnership is comparable to Prince William bringing a male hustler to dinner at Buckingham Palace because he needs a dinner date.)
