What's new

Cologan to Get Q400's!

Looks like it is for CO service.

This has been know to be happening for a while never knew who would operate them though

P.S. its Colgan

In a way it is a good thing for US Airways, which might follow suit if these aircraft are proven to be profitable and popular on the East Coast.

Hey if there new and nice inside, and continue to help make a profit go for it! Didn't Frontier order a bunch of turbo-props for regional service? Cheers to Continental for making a smart move.

Reads like Colgan may operate as many as 45 brand spanking new Q400s under the Continential Connection colors.

YEEHAA! Good for those guys. Flying a brand spanking new Q400 for the wages is too cool. Maybe we can all fly those one day and make that kind of pay. The more we get the longer it will take everyone to make it to the majors. Majors=Joke!
If anyone at a regional is making 85K or more they should stay there because the majors pay scale now is not good enough to sacrifice the seniority.

This is nothing more than wishful thinking, but I'd love to see the Q400 run the ISP-EWR run like they did with the ATR42 a few years ago. I seem to recall they were always full.

There is a precedent--such as LAX-SNA on UA, also LAX-ONT on UA.

That could give CO alot of business from Long Island-to places where WN doesn't go.

Then again it will probably never happen .....

I'd fly it out of EWR. I will never ever drive thru NYC again. Not my cup of tea.

Will these be for new cities or cities already served?

nothing official, but I'd look for most of the upstate and new england cities (with a couple exceptions) to change over to the q400 along with a few mid-atlantic markets. Maybe a couple new cities could be added like MDT, ABE, ISP, ACY, ITH, ELM, BGM, etc.

I think we'll see the q400 on most of these:

EWR to:

BTV
PWM
MHT
PVD
BDL
ALB
SYR
ROC
BUF
ORF
RIC
PHL
BWI

maybe YUL, YOW
