Computers fail

This may sound too simple. But if web check-in is working, just go out and buy some computers & printers at Best buy and set them up in in terminal for customers to do a web check-in vs the kiosk. Use hnd written luggage tags. If and when they fix the problem have a raffle for the computers for each of the employee at that station one chance to win.

It solves the problem for now, and just a little extra for an employee to win a bisic computer and printer. much less of a cost than some re-routes on other airline

It would take a competent IT Dept to get them up and usable 😱

According to a US Airways Spokeswoman this morning on CLT morning news the Kiosks in CLT are still down, a total of 318 system-wide are down and they are loading new software in CLT today and CLT is their #1 priority to get working but still have no idea when that will be accomplished.

Anyone who thinks that this migration was a success is mistaken! Why doesn't Tempe just admit that SHARES can't work on the US network and switch it back to Sabre, a more superior system, although more expensive. Didn't IT ever question that SHARES may be ok for a smaller airline (HP/AW) and not suited for US? BRING BACK SABRE!!

a more superior system, although more expensive. ..... BRING BACK SABRE!!

Don't you know that "If it's cheaper, it's better" mantra that drives Sand Castle? 😛

BTW, not sure if it's been brought up in other posts, but another glitch occurred in a few cities cities where US ground handles CO. After the migration, the CO partition in SHARES could not be accessed from the US sets.

1130A update on story. NBC6 advised Doug is in CLT going to each dept & visiting & thanking employees. If this is the case that's good.
wonder if any of the employees will just politely say "your welcome Doug"...??????

This is what throws me into an absolute rage with this management team.

How in the hell does a guy screw up so badly with a DUI, then turn around and do exactly the right thing during a crisis?

Just my opinion, but I don't think one has to do with the other....TRUST ME!!!

Did he bring working code for the kiosks with him, or is it propaganda only?

And is he buying the beer?

Another smooth day in GSO. Flights heavy, no delays. Believe it or not, agents are starting to enjoy shares.
