The first issue is the DSM and whether there was any foundation for homosexuality to be included. There is not a single shred of evidence to support its inclusion.

The second issue is the comparison of homosexuality to pedophilia, beastiality, and other such acts. The difference between those acts and homosexual is consent. Genetics aside, the people involved in a relationship give consent, abuse victims do not. Genetics is not an excuse to via the someone's rights.

Heterosexual it is genetic as well unless you want to argue that you made a choice to be straight. The fact that your orientation was genetic does not give a pedophile and excuse to molest children and more than the genetic orientation of gays does.

Keep talking because you will eventually prove that pedophilia is genetic and we should allow it to exist. Are pedophiles of same-sex nature homosexual? Are pedophiles that prefer the opposite sex heterosexual? Or are they the new victims based on their sexual orientation?

By that measure, how do you reconcile denying someone with a 20 year old domestic violence charge the ability to own a firearm, or denying convicted felons on probation or parole the ability to vote.

Don't they deserve equal protection? Is there really a compelling state interest in disenfranchising them, or is it really OK to say they're less equal than others?

Because it denies the right to all people with a violence charge, or all felons, just those with green eyes or red hair.  I do not think their rights are being violated.

People such as La La, Signals, Dell, South do not believe that others should be allowed to live their life as they see fit.  They wish to limit their rights because they disagree with them.  So it does matter to people.  It matters to gays to see people like them succeed and flourish as an example for them and their children.  I know you do not get it or agree with it but that does not change the reality of it.

And for the record, when I created this thread months ago it was to congratulate Michael Sam not for his football playing talents but on his historic breaking of a barrier that is very near and dear to my heart, surely you can understand my personal investment in his success.
