he's gone, E. and are you sure he receives no retirement benefits of any kind from AA? Even if the answer is no, no, and no, he is NOT a non-biased bystander as much as you or anyone else want to believe otherwise.
He hasn't said a negative word about AA mgmt. despite the fact that they have so mismanaged one of America's once premium brands....
He thinks it's all great that AA had to sell its soul in order to get this merger thru - which in reality is the fastest way the creditors could get paid - and nothing more.
By going with the sexy "a merger will fix it all" mindset, the creditors cash out quickly while the company will be saddled with the reality that AA is forced to give away many of its key assets in order to get a merger than just months ago, many here were arguing wasn't even necessary - including you.
Now we are supposed to believe that because Bob says it is a great idea that you were wrong all along?
As excited as you are about the merger, NO ONE should have any delusions that it is anything other than a means for the creditors to get their payout as quickly as possible, for the executives to get the "credit" for creating the world's largest airline, and the employees to be given the bill in the form of broken pay raise promises and guaranteed pay cuts to finance a merger that made no financial sense for AA - and you were absolutely one of the ones who said so.
What this thread highlights once again is yet another attempt to try to argue how AA is going to beat DL and yet the facts are overwhelmingly the other way around.
