Criminal charges don't slow down IAM Payments to Bosses

I went to the DOL site and I was startled to find the public records that show how the IAM used the dues of the hard working men and women to pay Tony A 122,500 in total compensation for 2006. even though my understanding is that he had felony charges against him during the same year for an incident in February 2006.

Of course, Canale made a whopping total compensation of close to $150,000 but at least he stayed clean from the law.

Given his past record at the the table, we can do without him this time. Selling out over 20 class 2 stations, along with the 60 day furlough clause was more than enough of his bargaining power to last us a working lifetime... :huh:
While I have no doubts that he takes care of his people in PHL, he must also remember that he is "Supposed" to be representing thousands of other dues paying members around the system as well. 🙁

He wasn't re-arrested....at the preliminary hearing some charges were dropped for lack of evidence while some others were held for court because they think they have enough evidence to convict.Thats what a preliminary hearing is all about.

What about his prior charges that were posted here a while ago? I guess that the IAM is willing to overlook that stuff. No such thing as a background check for them... :down:

Have to disagree here. According to the web docket sheets all the charges were dismissed due to lack of prosecution in Feb/Mar 2006, then he was brought back in and re-charged this year.

They got very lucky in who they drew for a Judge in the upcoming trial. The Judge is known to be very liberal and apparently throws a lot of cases out. My guess is that they won't ask for a trial by jury, and they'll end up with probation at the most.

According to the docket sheets,a bunch of charges were dismissed for LOE-lack of evidence.Also if you look into them some additional charges were added due to new information....thus your 'recharged' is in fact new charges most likely due to one of the others singing for a lighter sentence.The preliminary hearing was 5-23-07 from the docket sheet.And it looks like he was arraigned on the additional charges 6-13-07.
DA has undoubtably been investigating for almost a year.Looks like he may have done a thorough job.
