Did I misunderstand the recent FAA request? I thought they were asking the airlines to voluntarily cutback their International schedules at JFK and EWR before mandatory cuts were imposed. I realize this request applied to next summer, but is the answer to dramatically increase schedules now?
AA better get its butt in gear. They are being eclipsed at JFK by Delta. I am amazed Delta still has more wide bodies to take on all these new flights.
In contrast, AA has 58 763s, 15 762s, 34 A300s and 47 777s and none of them are dedicated to domestic flying (other than Hawaii).
Not entirely correct, the 762's are basically anchored to the JFK-LAX/SFO rotation. You will see a 762 subbed in when necessary on other routes, but for the most part they are domestic only birds.
Me, too. Still, if AA had used as many widebodies on DFW-Florida, DFW-LAX/SFO/LGA as Delta did up until a couple years ago, AA would have lots of widebodies available for expansion just like DL.
Delta has 83 763s (and 24 of those are non-ERs), 21 764s and 8 777s and too many of them were flying hourly shuttles from ATL to domestic destinations mentioned above.
In contrast, AA has 58 763s, 15 762s, 34 A300s and 47 777s and none of them are dedicated to domestic flying (other than Hawaii). Compared to AA, Delta just discovered international flying. And nearly every Delta foreign destination is either open-skies or easily-obtained authority. One daily flight to NRT, and some JFK-LGW flights for which DL paid UA dearly. And in a few months, the LGW flights are open-skies.
D'Oh! Meant to delete those. That's what I get for posting while concentrating on other things. 😱

God, what a kool-aid drinker. Everytime a post says anything remotely positive about another airline or slightly negative about AA, you're all "but, but,..". Give it a rest. AA is not the end-all, nor be-all. As much as I lOVE Delta, I'm the first to admit they do alot of kooky things. If only my ex, who's flown for AA for 14 years, cared half as much as you for AA, he might actually smile at a passenger once in a while. He told me he doesn't have to, because AA "raped" him. Guess not everybody there is as thrilled with them as you are.

Trust me, I have met plenty of grim Delta fliight attendants, too. 😛
You're right. And you'll NEVER hear me say otherwise. Unlike some of the AA'ers on this board.
