What's new

Delta ends India Call Centers.

More jobs brought back to the US is always a good thing.
with record unemployment at this time.. any idea to eliminate US jobs and send those jobs overseas (to save a buck) is not going to sit well with Americans.. sadly, record unemployment has finally caused some people to finally wake up..

a main reason why our country is in such a mess is because of the outsourcing..

if jobs are sent overseas, who spends money and supports our local communities here? thats right..it doesnt happen.

Congratulations to Delta for this move. I now use HP/Compaq computers because of despair at getting information I needed from Dell's call center in India. And, I was trying to BUY a new Dell. The cart review screen had no exit which would take me to a screen where I could tell Dell where to ship it and how I was going to pay for it.

I won't go into the whole thing, but when I reached a supervisor, John (pronounced JAAHHNN) I got the same runaround with these final exchanges:

John: Cleek the checkout botton. (spelled phonetically)
Me: John, that's the whole point of this 30-minute telephone call. There is no checkout button.
John: Cleek eet eenyway. (???)
Me: Thank you. I think I'll see what HP has to offer on their website.

Delta has definitely made the right move in listening to their customers.

Cleaning is in our CBA... 🙂
crossing seatbelts, magazines neat and orderly in the seat pocket and arm rest placed back down, blankets neatly folded.. matters..

I see that done moreso with those 'in house' for some reason..

Stop taxing the hell out of companys and maybe they won't have to look for cheap laber !

Maybe its a dream but hopefully Cabin Service is next.

from Joann's blog;

"Delta’s Pacific operation now comprises 16 cities and more than 700 Pacific-based pre-merger Northwest flight attendants and IFSRs in 11 bases, in addition to hundreds of ground employees providing support at airports and in regional offices. Northwest’s Pacific-based In-Flight Service employees have been valuable members of the Northwest family for decades - since Northwest began serving Asia as Northwest Orient - and have strongly contributed to Northwest’s high level of success operating in this region. I was happy to have the opportunity to tell these flight attendants that they’re as important to and as valued by Delta as ever, and that (among many other rumors I was able to clear up) we have no plans to close any of our Pacific bases."

Corp/income taxes, inflation, and interest are some of the many reasons we as a country give up quality for quantity. Companies gave up earning true capital gain a long time ago. Trust me, Companies are more pissed about the interest rate for the money they will never be able to pay back than any fed tax.

I was referring to Cabin Service not InFlight Service. Cabin Service at Delta
is those who clean and service our aircraft on the ground.
