Delta to unveil LGA expansion Friday noon

DL is reducing capacity thruout its system for 2012 including domestically. However, based on current schedule data loaded for July 2012, DL/Delta Connection capacity at MSP is not being reduced to the same degree it is in other parts of the system.
I don't have all of the data, but I would bet that DL is pulling back capacity in ATL faster than in MSP or DTW because DL increased capacity by about 5% in the latter half of 2011 and is likely unraveling some of that.
DL's average aircraft size on its domestic system is increasing both as smaller RJs are removed and as seats are added to several aircraft types.... all of which have the effect of slightly reducing the number of flights based on the same level of capacity... but since DL is reducing capacity, the number of flights is falling off slightly faster than the capacity drop.
Note sure what day you are looking at but for both mid-April and mid-July 2012, LGA-MSP shows all mainline, predominantly 320s with one or two 319 and one or two M88.

I don't seem to remember NW's valuable Twin-Cities passengers being forced into an RJ or E jet from MSP to LGA, so I'm curious as to why DL would think this is prudent.
LGA/IAH-DFW, even on an E-jet ? NO WAY !

Again, if you're talking about a 44/50 seat RJ, then I agree. If you're talking about a CRJ900 or E-175/190 with F class, I would take that every time over a Super 80 or 737.

Who is DL going to have doing the ramp and passenger service jobs in LGA in the future?

Hopefully mainline still...

The better question is why is the Shuttle operation outsourced to DGS already?
when was the Shuttle switched to DGS employees?
However, I would presume there are virtually no bags or cargo.
