Has DL announced/loaded any routes for the 737-900ER? IIRC DL usually cycles their new aircraft types initially on ATL-Florida routes as familiarization runs for the crews. I assume it is safe to say any current 757 or 763 route has a fair shot, hoping to see them in BOS someday soon. The ex-NWA 5500 series 757s and early build A320s these will replace are in bad shape and really need to leave the fleet soon.

So now your an airplane expert too?

You dont know the mechanical condition of the airplane.

And a former stock clerk/lav service man at USAIR knows about DL and the former NW fleet?

Josh

Never claimed I do, unlike yourself.

I never claimed I did, the fact is the former NW aircraft (besides the A330s) were in terrible condition compared to the pre-merger DL fleet in the passenger cabin. Don't know about the mechanical condition, the airlines don't provide access to the log books don't you know? If you can't contribute substantively to the thread move on, go reply to the posts in the AA forum about IAMNPF.

Good question. The 717 will be doing familiarization runs ex-EWR of all places, so they may be moving away from initial FL routes?

If it means anything a couple weeks back I noticed DL added the 717 line marker to the terminal gates at BOS, not sure about the satellite. Generally speaking dont airlines/airports add these for all aircraft the gate and jet bridge are able to handle? Didn't notice then before however. Maybe eventually they are planning to upgauge certain peak time shuttle flights.

some gates are not designed to hold some aircraft types such as wide bodies and space and constraint also play a role too...
in my station we have only 1 gate where the 76 can park but i do not think we have the gate to handle an A330 aircraft
also wing tip to wing tip also play a role too

Generally, yes (at least at the ones I've worked at, anyway). We got 717 lines recently as well. 'Course we also had RJ85 lines until not too long ago...
