We now do a mix of inhouse and outsource. For airframe work we send out the 767 HMV to AC in Vancouver. The 757 HMV are now getting done by Timco, mostly in Lake City. The MD88's get sent to AM, and AAR.

All of that work used to be done inhouse. Now we still do PSV checks on 757/767 and letter check on the MD88s. We also do all the checks on the 777 and the 738. Those last two do not get HMV's The PSV visit program completely replaced the HMV.

We also do engine overhaul on everything but the RR Trents' that are on the 777. It was not cost effective to build another test cell for such a small fleet. We do insource a lot of engine work.

All of this work is now done in ATL. Line stations also do service checks on the entire fleet. I work in BOS and we do service checks for 738, Md88, and 757. We used to get a bunch of 757 HOV (flight control lube visits). I think CVG is doing them now.

Word is the really want to increase Line insourcing. In BOS we handle Icelandic, AZ, and AM. We also do service checks for Miami Air.

I saw a few DAL 757's outside the Goodrich hangar in Everett, WA.

To catch up the AC and Avborne backlog they have been sending airplanes all over the place. They have also been sending out some of the mod work. The Song to mainline conversions and I think the 764 conversions are being done in ATL.

Thats one of the pitfalls of outsourced maintenance; your on their schedule not yours. The cost of a couple of 757's just sitting there probably offsets any savings gained.

DalMD88, how many AMTs total would you say Delta has at the moment?
