What's new

Don Videtich "released" from service at TWU effective Nov. 1

Unless he retires or goes into management it's time to face the music from the boys.

What does face the music mean?

It means that you are facing the consequences of your actions.

We will see in due time.

The company will not allow his phat face to be anywhere near the people he screwed over.

I heard Tim Gillespie was also terminated from the TWU as well. He was the International Rep for Title groups II III and IV.

The TWU has finally realized their days at AA are numbered unless they make some changes. Hopefully these are just the start.

Little/Videtich were kinda like the old Carty/Arpey regime. Steal what you can from your subordinates and then get the 'F' out!

With Little, Videtich and Gless gone, who are you going to blame when you fail the membership now bob?
I get the feeling that the TWU is cleaning the House of Little because they truly believe that the mechanics desire to rid themselves of this union is based solely on the current ATD staff. There is some truth to this as we have all seen and felt the effects of their decisions and agreements. We have been feeling it for many years and will continue to do so under the current contract.
But who is going to replace them? Not only does every Little crony need to go, but the TWU's accommodating philosophy needs to disappear.

The new TWU International leadership needs to understand that these positions need to be ELECTED by the membership. Simply changing the actors does not make for a good show.

Hopefully nobody replaces them and the authority is given to whom it should be-the elected Presidents who can be removed by their members. That's how it should be, the Presidents should not be under some appointed staff of the ATD.

Conehead, when I screw up I admit it. As Metalmover pointed out, we are still stuck with the damage that Videitch did, so until there is a new agreement its still his. We can try and mitigate the damage but the law is that we have to prove they are wrong, not the other way around.  Remember I did everything I could to get this deal voted down.

One thing to remember is that with the Convention Election the new people are brining in changes across the entire Union, not just the ATD. Little left the place a mess, like I've been citing for years they were headed towards BK. Little spent like a drunken sailor, went from over $60 million to around $20 million with around the same membership. So the focus isn't all ATD, its transit, rail and Utilities as well, but I suspect that the most screwed up part is the AATD.  Like I said its only been a month and they have a lot on their plate. from what I've heard many have been cut and more cuts are coming, authority over committees, LOAs etc is being turned over to the Locals, as it should be.

There you have it men, sit back and enjoy the company riding rough shod over the membership that bob can't do anything about except "try and mitigate", he can go on continuing to blame everyone else. Such a nice deal, sit back, collect salary, and go on blaming everyone else for the morass.

What about the harmonization agreement bob if the merger occurs?

I have the feeling that Lombardo won't put up with any shenanigans and will likely remove officers that aren't doing their jobs.

BTW, hows that non membership approved 591 salary hike going for you?

Go ahead and get excited about the next TWU smoke and mirrors show. Been there, done that. How many times will we be hoodwinked by the same strategy?

I hate to say it, but, IMHO, as soon as Tulsa is no longer the voting majority.
