Political Views of the Washington Examiner;

When Phillip Anschutz (owner) started the examiner in its current format, he envisioned creating a CONSERVATIVE competitor to the Washington Post.
According to POLITICO,..."When it came to the Editorial Page, Anschutz instruction were EXPLICIT - HE wanted NOTHING but CONSERVATIVE columns, and CONSERVATIVE op-ed writers" !!!!!!!!!!!

Grandma had an Ol' sayin'.
If it LOOKS like a Duck, WALKS like a Duck and "QUACKS" like a Duck,.......................It's a DUCK !!!!!!!!!!!

Every day @ work, I get the W-E DELIVERED free of charge in Boston. It's on every terminating Amtrak Train that originates in Washington DC. The friggin' "Drudge Report" is more un-biased than the Washington Examiner.

Owner Phillip Auschutz is a Denver BILLIONAIRE. NO wonder the man has a REPUG agenda !

So whats your point?
I don't think the WE is doing the story.

WE bad Huffpo good....LOL

Yeah, not sure what Bears' point is. Print media and network TV is dominated by Liberals. No concerns about ownership agendas there, right?.... Yet the 5-10% of the media which is owned by conservatives (e.g. FOX, the WE and a few radio networks) are the bad guy...

Thank God we actually still have people who believe in a free press, Bears.

Oh, and Anschultz is also one of the largest personal investors in the railroad industry. He owns something like 5-6% of Union Pacific, and is one of the largest private investors in wind energy. No government handouts, like some other greed green energy outfits....

Too bad it's all but disappeared in this country...

Do you even know what "socialist" means? Seriously.

Ohh, ohh I do, I do...

Socialist means that the government supplies all your basic needs and if you want some wants beyond needs, they will cost you!

In the 70s I lived in Italy and upon graduation a group would go on trips to Soviet blocked countries of the COLD WAR TIMES

Remember I said I went to Tunisia and saw an anti-West attitrude from those wonderful Allah worshipping countries? Well some folks that went to Soviet block countries were told that sneakers, jeans and stockings would get you the best women because these items costs hundreds of dollars in those SOCIALISTS/Communist countries. Negligees costs about $10 in Italy and $100 in Yugoslavia!

Socialist means that you get what you need but not what you want.

Now why did the USSR fall?

Heard it on talk radio so he must repeat it here.

We are so far from being a socialist country.

Really?

Is Obama a socialist? Obama falls within the mainstream of contemporary socialism as represented by Germany's Social Democrats, the French Socialists, or Spain's socialist-workers party. By this criterion, yes! Obama is a socialist. He is clearly a socialist in the European sense of the term.
France has just elected François Hollande president. Hollande is a proud socialist. How are Obama's and Hollande's policies similar?
 • Reject austerity and embrace "growth." Hollande said that he will end the current austerity efforts. Obama has accused House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) and his House-passed budget of "social Darwinism," apparently meaning to say that the plan is so austere that it would leave millions of helpless Americans to fend for themselves, or what we used to call taking "personal responsibility."
 • Crack down on the financial industry. Hollandewants to separate retail and investment banking, and he wants a financial transactions tax. Hollande prefers clean energy ideas that don't work. He wants to reduce nuclear from 75 percent to 50 percent of France's energy and replace it with other green energy sources. Citizens Against Government Waste says that in America, there are about 20 green companies with federal grants or loan guarantees that could be in financial trouble. But Obama is campaigning on funding even more green jobs.
 • Increase public subsidies to small businesses.wants to create a public investment bank to help small companies and home grown industries, funneling money to those companies that are least able to survive on their own.[/url] Obama has already tried to buy small business votes by providing a tax credit to offset the cost of health insurance.
Obama's economic policies are almost identical to those of the French socialist François Hollande.

Oh, and for the tin-foil crowd who is questioning the original post...

Rumor has it Newsweek may be the magazine mentioned. They've already broken with the pack of the other weekly mags by running the "hit the road" cover, which has moved into one of their top selling issues of all time.

Whatever happened?

Newsweek is broken and won't be selling any issues soon.

FEC Slaps Obama Campaign With Massive Fine for 2008 Violations

WASHINGTON (TheBlaze/AP) — President Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign has been fined $375,000 by the Federal Election Commission for reporting violations related to a set of donations received during the final days of the campaign. The infraction, which is historical in nature when considering its size, was first reported by POLITICO.
The fines are among the largest ever levied on a presidential campaign by the FEC and stem from a series of missing filings for nearly 1,300 contributions totaling nearly $1.8 million. Campaigns are required to file the reports during the final weeks of the campaign. POLITICO has more:

Yeah, they're just now getting around to this?... If it had been a conservative, they would have fined them during the primary.
