So what is a pilot who buys his job at Mesa through San Juan College and has 300 hours when he finishes, worth? My first paid flying job didn't pay half of the $17,000 you mentioned, and I had over twice as much time.

If your telling me that you flew a commercial aircraft for $8500/yr, I have but one question - why? Unless of course it was in the 70's or earlier??

Everyone in this business pays "dues" to get ahead so I understand that aspect of it, but $8500????

As far as the "worth", thats up to the markets to decide what to offer you and your decision as to accept it or walk away.
