NWA President and CEO Doug Steenland told the US Senate earlier this week. "We have to recognize that there are variables out there that are completely outside our control [that could lead to job cuts in the future]," he explained. "It doesn't mean that we were misleading. . .It means there's been a sea change, a change in the external world that changes how this business needs to be run if it's going to stay in business."


Meanwhile...He'll be cashing that $20 Million dollar buyout and laughing all the way to the bank...

Well it is no longer an active link, but it claimed that Steenland was going to make $3 million more if he just stayed until the end of the merger. He could have walked with $8 mil but there's $11 mil if he stays until the merger is final. NWA didn't want to go to the merger table without a CEO.
