The guys coming to NY1 start between today and Oct4. I would imagine its the same for the guys going to DWH. Local 565 as far as I know. Doubt they would charter another Local.

heard a rumor from a pilot that AA bought the DAL hgr's at DFW and is going to move check work there, and AFW, plus spin off TUL like AA did with SABRE and TUL is where the 787 boeing work is going to be done for Boeing.

just a pilot rumor................... 😛h34r:

The DWH hangar was obtained quite some time ago. But yes work will be moved there. I think one reason is that an aircraft can easily be routed thru DFW for maintenance work at that hgr. Rather than ferrying empty aircraft to maybe AFW and/or TUL.
The 787 work you mention would be for Boeing/warranty/maintenance work, aka GOLDCARE, that AA applied to be the sole provider for. To date, Boeing has not announced who won that contract.
But the rumor stems from alot of feelings, not facts, that TULE will eventually be used for mainly MRO work.

DWH like it has been noted, has been working under the DFW line MX work rules for years. Things have changed a bit now. DWH is now considered OVERHAUL as are the AMTs working there without line premium pay. The AMTs at DWH are in Local 565 - DFW, not some new local or AFW. Most of the transferees into DWH due to the RIF are there now, save for the few on VC, or took the extra week to relocate. AMTs there, are under the one station agreement much like LGA, EWR, and, JFK. This means they have a higher priority over the rest of the system as far as moving from DFW to DWH & visa versa.

As far as when actual check work begins at DWH - it's going to be around the second week of Oct. Very limited though because of issues related to: tools - not all there. Equipment - not all in place. Badging of employees - not complete. Training of employees - not complete. Work rules - not completely worked out.
Currently no crew chiefs in place.

The MCI guys are all jockeying for positions - kinda tough with limited seniority though. Although most of the AVIONICS guys were hand picked by management under protest from the local.

It is a mess right now............ B)
