E-170 Starts More Fla Flying In Nov.

Yes, everyone is entitled to a livable wage. The jobs the rampers do is extremely important and can be very dangerous if the employee is not on their toes. Example: that poor soul in DC last year. I will always support a group just trying to keep their jobs, or make a wage above the poverty level.

You are safe to fly down for now.  It will be professional MidAtlantic crews landing on our tiny runway starting Nov 9th.
Yea, you guys will just land with parking brake on and be off by the first intersection.

No kidding. I was wondering if you guys do that to make it easier to follow each other.

Oh, and JSsup, why are you making it so easy for U to can your a$$ if/when the numbers at EYW go south? Not like anyone here's gonna stand up for you.

But before you all go and compare EYW to PHL, we've never had a ground incident since JS took over, and we haven't had a station controllable delay for a *very* long time, some flights leaving 20 minutes early (with everyone on board).

(btw, i'm not a ramper.. we're all cross trained here)

Just a question for you JSsup. Do you think if the shoe was on the other foot that the MDA crews would go to bat for you as a Express ramper?
????

Sorry, not a ramper.

And I think a few would... we've had a few MDA folks thru here on vacation. (we take care of *all* nonrevs, regardless of which airline you work for... i've been able to get many out on other airlines without tickets when we'd have to pull them!)

The MAA crews would indeed stand up for another at the airline. In fact, that's essentially what they are doing- trying to stop the airline from becoming a collection of contracted planes and no mainline. This affects everyone.

It's nice to hear support for the MAA crews from the stations. There's alot of stations that have 170 service and are just waiting for the company to schedule one of those scab planes in there so it can sit and collect dust.

Why doesn´t Mr. Parker do something about this? This is a horrible setting for the start of the merger, and it´s leaving a bad taste in everyone's mouth about what kind of airline this is going to be.

They can talk about it being a family and working together, but actions speak louder. We´re going into this with our narrobody mainline aircraft being flown by replacement workers and allowing them to have the only growth/replacement flying in the airline.

What is there to be excited about... this is HP managements chance to show who they are when they come in. If they are as great as they say they are they will stop this Republic nonsense dead in it's tracks. If not they are as bad or worse than the current management that hates it's employees so much they can barely contain it.

To what end? Piss off 70 customers at a time? So that the brand new US can repeat the bankruptcy conga again in short order?

Pissing off your customers is the quickest way to liquidation.

But you will really show those republic folks--who will ultimately end up flying those jets in DL or UA colors with former US customers. Yeah, put the screws to them. 🙄

That's the problem with any kind of labor action, or not volunteering to work because of chronic understaffing, it has an excellent chance of pissing off the customers in the end, which seems self defeating. Unfortunately, it (or at least the threat of it) seems like it's the only thing that gets management's attention.

I think that's the point.

I'm not following you here. Is the point to piss off the customers? Because in the end you're not hurting the RAH employees (like me). If my plane's sitting here collecting dust waiting to be parked, well, I'm paid by the hour. Unfortunately all the passengers will be bitching about never buying tickets on USAirways again, not about CHQ/Republic/whoever.

Paid by the flight hour, not ground hour.

Ah, sir, I promise you if there are passengers sitting on my plane with the door closed and an engine or APU running, I'm getting paid. I really hope it's a moot point as such a situation doesn't benefit anyone, but it probably harms me the least.

I'm not waging this battle, I am just using this message board to let my position be known. If and when I see a Republic -operated flight on our schedule is when I plan on telling my bosses that I am not comfortable working these flights & why I will find it very difficult to do so... UNTIL this deal gets put to rest and our fellow airline family members keep their jobs, fence or not...

This transaction is affecting more jobs than people realize .... instead of being told that we're parking planes, we're telling them that *another* airline will be flying the EXACT aircraft.

Why are you using an internet message board? For the pats on the back and "Atta' boys" from the MAA types?

You're going to get yourself fired for insubordination, you're a supervisor, you have no protection.

Maybe your station manager will be sympathetic, chances are good his regional VP won't be.When he gets enough calls about a problem in a station, he'll take steps to rectify the problem.

Scabs always get paid- just not very much.

The issue, I'd imagine, is affecting the bottom line. The company only sees money, and if they lose more money losing replacement workers maybe they'll think twice.
