Early out for M & R Sept. 4-Sept 25

An O/H AMT transfering to the line has to pass the A-25 line test to transfer to the line so it stands to reason a guy getting bumped to the line would have to as well.
Maybe?

The sign up window opens tomorrow and I heard over the weekend with as many Machinists wanting to go they are going to hold them to the last exit window for Early outs. I know some are ready to leave ASAP but they may have to wait a while.

That is so they can decide which work to outsource as they leave. Within six months of a long six year contract, the majority working will have been no voters.

The ramp guys have indicated that their prefunding will be paid out on Sept 21... Have not verified this yet..

Their contribution or the company match?

I take it that all of the early outs will be granted before a RIF takes place?

I am sure that the company is smart enough to know that it needs to keep as many A&P's as possible if they intend to keep maintenance in house. If it is true that a large number of "Charles Taylors" are inching to leave, then the junior A&P's can stay on the payroll and the company can have the esteem of having it's aircraft workforce licensed and at least a fourth as OSM's.

All the early outs will be on a schedule, The schedule runs into next year I believe as late as next Spring. One would think that layoffs would start after the new year.

It is very possible that the company would like to see the RIF in two moves. The early out and the layoff, up to and including the reduction caused by the arrival of the new aircraft.

I hope those Yes voters who will take the early out will be stuck here until next year.
With that schedule so spread out AA has no idea when the current inhouse work will be farmed out.
