"Easties" out West

Hello to all the "East" FA's that took postions in PHX. Just wondering how it is out there. I hear not so good. Can any of you shed some light?
Friends of mine that went there from PSA say its a nightmare. Basically a combo of Mesa and PSA just bigger planes. Just barely over $1200.00 a month and always driving back and forth to the airport to do line holders last round trip.

Sounds real nice!

I came from PSA and it's not that bad out here, it's about a trillion times better than psa. I have alot of friends that fly mainline out east and so knowing what east mainline is and what working out west, it's two very very different operations. Alot of "micro-managing" goes on out here... nothing wrong w/ that, but now that we have nearly 10,000 f/a's we shortly won't have time for that sort of thing. Trips are ok, and yes the pay is crummy, but i pick up trips for cash and usually bring in about 2,000-2,200 when it's all said and done at they end of the month. I'm pretty confident we will see a couple dollar raise after the contracts all said and done. We'll see, but you should come out, crews and people are sooooo friendly and the sun's always out (for the most part)!! 🙂

Iheartairbus, I think Imiss was hoping for something more negative to sink her teeth into. She wants to make the west look as bad as possible, you see. With a post like the one above you are not helping her out.

Please refrain from posting anything on this thread unless it has a negative connotation.

This coming form the "lets have two contracts, Ambassador of Goodwill" herself!

With all due respect sweetheart...DO NOT SPEAK for me! I want to know how it is...thats why I asked. The question was geared towards the Furoughed East FA's that took postions on the west. If it's good I wanna hear about it and if its bad I wanna hear about it!

Ya know what 903, I lived out west and work in the east. I have met MANY and I do mean MANY workers from the west side of the operation. NONE had the attitude you have. I know that there are bad apples in any company and some will ALWAYS be unhappy regardless. Change is happening and thats for sure. I don't think that this thread was started to see how the west could be beaten down. GET OVER IT.... 🙄 She simply asked a question and wanted to see how they were doing. Some people have to literally pick apart anything you say. YOU have had quite a few negative things to say about folks on the east. YOU are basing your beliefs and thoughts by the few that post here. Your NOOOOOOO better. Lighten up and get ready to fight for what we all (east and west) have in common, A NEW AND IMPROVED CONTRACT! ! ! ! !

I've heard 5 have already quit. I just worked with several former US East/mid atlantic f/a's. They said the employees are cool, but the reserve system sucks!!! They loathe the tagging and not being able to choose your trips. lol...
I concur.
I'm curious about the reserve sytem in the east. It's got to be better than what we have here.
All I can say is....the Union better make the reserve system attractive for line holders, so people can bid down.

From everything that our MEC has FINALLY told us about section 6 negotiations, a single contract is inevitable. Arguing the point for separate contracts is no longer relative, as far as I am concerned, because it isn't going to happen. We lost and will continue to lose. Nothing will ever be gained contractually if you are from the west. Case closed.

I know, so we might as well make the single contract work. I'm going to stay positive and hope for the best. B)

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

I'm not going to prepare for the worst. Who says we have to give up our vacations, etc., so the juniors can get a raise? I still have high hopes that the union can give us what we want. Hope for the best all the way.............. 🙂

I miss,

It's not real hard to figure out. They are paid substandard wages, and are on reserve. What were you wondering, exactly, by starting this topic? Shouldn't you be busy recalling AFA officers, and not worrying about people who just returned back to work? Get out of your crashpad, and get some fresh air! It's a beautiful day in PHL!

Let's start looking at the fact that AFA negotitations are essentially stalled. Anyone upset by that?

Thank you.

Ardee,

Thanks for once again showing me the light...and the error of my ways.
